The East Suite is the adjoining residence to the West Suite. These two suites combine to make the Highway House, a 1840s duplex with all the modern conveniences. We proud to offer this addition to the traveling public. The East Suite has the following:

2 bedrooms with queen beds,

1 hideaway bed that sleeps two adults comfortably,

1 full bathroom,

A cozy kitchen with a new refrigerator and stove, plus a dishwasher,

A gas fireplace to warm the bones on those chilly fall & winter nights,

Satellite TV, High Speed Wireless service,

Big windows to take in the scenes of the county.

About John F. Moore

Our family has been in Prince Edward County since 1977, originally from Toronto. My mother fell in love with trees, the look of the property and how it leads to the water. My grandmother bought the property from the Cleave family, which owned the property from 1920 to 1988. The house has been through 5 renovations since the house was built in 1840. I took over the operation of the house in 2010 after my younger brother passed away. Shocking. Bradley loved the house and lovingly designed it with families and groups of people in mind.

Originally we rented the house for long term rentals. We saw that there was a need for quality accommodation at an affordable price. We originally had Westlake Marina from 1977 to 2010. The Highway House started operation in 2007.

We're located in the new and upcoming area of Prince Edward County, on the north shore of Lake Ontario. The 'County' has a lot to offer: wine tours, 4 star restaurants, art galleries, museums and a lot of history. We're a few minutes from the world famous Sandbanks Provincial Park.
