Magen's Bay view, own sandy beach, 1000 sqft, deck, 1 bed/1bath, sleep 4 (sofa)

Villa Eau Claire is a unique property, behind a gate and fence, and sitting just over Magen Bay, with its own pocket beach, private deck with shower, and access to Magen's Bay, one of the most beautiful bodies of water anywhere. The property has fourt condo rentals. This condo is 1000 sq feet of interior space and has an additional 350 sq feet of covered deck. The condo has a one bedroom, with a queen sized bed. The kitchen opens on the great room . The views from the decks extend from Magen's Bay Beach to the South, the entire Bay and the Mountain across the Bay, down to the Atlantic Ocean to the northwest. The sunsets are wonderful, and the house faces southwest. The entire property was renovated completely, with all new kitchens and baths, and furniture, in 2008. Emergency 27k generator present.The laundry room is on the ground floor. The access to its little beach is by the stairs. The apartment is all wireless.

Magen's Bay and Main Beach: Magen's Bay is a very special place; the largest and most beautiful beach in the U.S. Virgin Islands, about one mile long and 10 to 20 yards wide, with great picnic areas, and a small restaurant that serves among the best hamburgers and pizza on St. Thomas. Magen's Bay gets its unusual character because the prevailing easterlies blow from the beach outward, creating a tranquil body of water that covers an entirely sand bottom bay, with no rip tides or major currents. This is a swimmer's paradise and my wife swims a mile and a half through calm water every morning. For small children, the abundance of sand and the absence of waves is wonderful, creating a perfect experience for children.

Private Deck on Pocket Beach: It is very unusual to have direct access to a private deck and beach on any of the islands. With Eau Claire, you walk down to a large private deck, with its own shower and seating, just a few steps above a pocket sandy beach, surrounded by rocks on both sides. The water is shallow, and you can walk out about twenty yards before it gets deeper, and the bottom is soft sand and almost no rocks and no coral at all. From our property, you can easily walk the 4 miles to the main beach (on the road) or your can walk a mile or more to the north along the shore or in the water. When you want to go back to your condo, the shower is there for you to clean off before going up to your apartment. This is the aspect that makes Villa Eau Claire so special -- privacy at the ocean.

Little Magen's Beach: One hundred yards to the left is the largest pocket beach on Magen's Bay, a 100 yard long beach that is the only place where nude or topless bathing is permitted on St. Thomas. The beach is used by only a few people at any one time, seldom more than 8 or 10, and it is considered the alternative lifestyle beach on St. Thomas. However, Eau Claire is separated from that beach by a rocky promontory, and it is perfectly comfortable for children of all ages.

The water is wonderful for swimming and the walking is superb. The breezes are constant most of the year and the views are magnificent, Our house manager is Julia Quetel, and she takes wonderful care of our guests.We have a large generator which eliminates the problem of power outages and switches on automatically after 15 seconds.

Great place to relax and enjoy the view

Wonderful place with outstanding views of Magans Bay. The unit was super clean, very well appointed and provided easy access to your own private pocket beach. Perfect size for a couple looking to get away from life and relax. Nice size deck on the unit, with no one above you. Located on the north side of the island, which is a little more quite and subdued than the east end. Recommend a jeep, the roads can be steep.

The owners were great, easy to work with and accommodating. Julia, the onsite person, was also superb and very easy to deal with. She helped us get settled and was always available for questions.

Amazing View!

Magen's Bay is one of the most beautiful bodies of water in the world and the amazing glowing turquoise waters serves as a huge backdrop to every room in the villa. We really loved this place. Very new and modern construction, huge porch with ample shade, smartly furnished and well equipped. The sound of the ocean constantly fills the villa and a lovely private beach is just a few steps below you. If you are feeling really adventurous a small clothing optional beach is a short wade around the rocks. We spent hours on the porch watching huge sea turtles play in the water. Even though there was not much breeze during our stay we always felt very comfortable without using the A/C. The complex is very secure and the location is far away from the noise and chaos of the city. Please stock up on supplies and settle in...your not going to want to leave the villa.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
