Overview

Lakewood Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Sleeps 6

Here's your log cabin getaway you've been dreaming of! Rustic enough to be up North, but still has all the modern comforts of home! Steps to the Lily River (fed off the Wolf River); surrounded by acres and acres of beautiful forest and the ice age trail just miles away. The cabin's first floor has 2 large private bedrooms (Full Beds Each) with state of the art handmade beds, full bath, and a cozy kitchen with electric stove, fridge, microwave, and all the cookware. Living area is complete with ample comfortable seating, TV /DVD system, and gas fireplace. 2nd floor loft has two twin handmade reclaimed barn board beds and a quiet sitting area with large windows over looking the forest and river views. Nice large rap around deck with stainless steel gas grill. Plenty of seating to enjoy all the nature around you, and a separate screened-in, lighted gazebo for those late night cocktails or card games by the fire. Close to nice dining, golf coarse and casino. Whitewater rafting down the raging Wolf River in the summer and endless trails for snowmobiling and ski. We are located 10 miles from Lakewood, Wisconsin and 5 miles from Pickerel Wisconsin! Great private and quiet location!

Perfect! Charming, cozy cabin in a great area

  • 5 of 5

It's impossible for the photos to show just how great this place is. A perfect set-up for a kid-friendly vacation. The sleeping loft is stocked with "awesome Legos" (according to our 4 year old), other toys and games, and two comfy beds. The main cabin area has two separate sitting areas: one with TV (which never got turned on) and another with a gas fireplace and great view of the river. The kitchen is efficient but full sized and nicely appointed with everything we needed.

The adjacent creek is a highlight -- it was only about a foot and a half deep so it felt safe and we spent a lot of time on the dock casting a fishing pole and watching a river otter explore. The fire pit provided the opportunity to stay outside later listening to the creek and roasting marshmallows in the October chill.

The Wolf River trail is accessible directly across the main road. We biked about 14 miles on a smooth, wide path running parallel the river just west of highway 55 with incredible views and fall color. We also spent a day hiking trails around Jack Lake which was about a 25 minute drive away but well worth it. Did a little fishing on Pickerel Lake which was a short 10-15 drive from the cabin. We didn't even scratch the surface of all there is to explore so we'll be back for sure!

This place felt very much like a cabin with all the modern convenience but still a true get-away in a unique space in a peaceful, private setting. It's well cared for, super clean, and makes for a perfect weekend with kids or kid-free! Thanks so much, David!!!

Even better than the pictures show...

Stayed with some friends and we were all blown away. The cabin itself was exactly as depicted. The little addition like nice linens, knick knacks, assorted groceries in the cabinets and eclectic plates for dinner. It had everything we needed. Not to mention the location, spent a lot of time floating on the river and we were lucky to have beautiful weather. Can't wait to reserve next summer!!

Perfect weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was exactly the getaway we were looking for. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. It was a shame the weather wasn't a little nicer, however we were happy to spend plenty of time in the cabin. Everything is exactly like it is in the pictures. There was a pretty bad storm the first night and Lori called to check on us. It was nice to be secluded but know there was someone nearby if we needed anything. We will be back!

The Best Cabin Stay Ever!

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful cabin with a fantastic location for relaxing and enjoying time with your family. The cabin smelled so good and was so clean when we arrived, we fell in love with it right away. The décor was so perfect and cabin like, with extra blankets and comfy pillows everywhere, it was a perfect trip. What a nice kitchen, with everything that you need to cook great meals. We used the oven and the really nice and convenient gas grill. Every utensil that you'd need was there. We ate at the cabin every night. It was like our home away from home, it was just so cozy & relaxing. The fire pit was perfect for smores & just hanging out. The river was so relaxing and fun to walk in and fish so close to home. The little pier was great to sit on and read a book, the river sound was heavenly. The loft was so perfect for the kids to have a space of their own and the beds were way too comfortable. We went fishing at a place on Hwy 55 that was a park with a war memorial, it was such a fun place to fish & walk in the river. We rented a boat on Pelican Lake in Rhinelander and had a great time. I would recommend this gem to anyone who wanted a nice cabin to stay at. David was always very nice and helpful when we emailed with questions. Thanks for a great week!!!!! The Winder Family

The description listing was accurate.

The cabin was a perfect get away. My son was able to fish in the Lilly River, we were able to take the 3 hour raft trip on the Wolf River and went swimming at Nicolet National Forest. We had a great time.

Snowmobile Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for opening your home to us and I call it a home not a cabin. We loved the place and all the personal touches. Decore was great. We will be back again now in the summer we all want to sit by the river. The best was coming back after a day of snowmobiling and see that someone came and feed the deer. We watched them for hours. Thanks you for plowing enough to get our enclosed trailer in the driveway..
