This home has everything you need to enjoy Austin! Located in beautiful Tarrytown you are less than 5 minutes to the heart of downtown but can walk to Lake Austin, the Ladybird Johnson hike and bike trail and fun local restaurants overlooking the river.

You will love the open floor plan featuring a fireplace to enjoy while cooking in the state of the art kitchen. Or move to another living area which also features a large fireplace and plenty of room for entertaining.

The master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling, walk in closet and it's own private bath. The 2 upstairs bedrooms have their own seating areas and share a large modern bathroom.

The back yard has a large limestone patio covered with a wysteria vined arbor overlooking our beautifully landscaped yard.
About Jean Gabbay

As you can see from our photo we're a pretty fun loving family who have lived in Austin for all our lives! That's unusual, but helpful for you since we know all the secret fun places to see and when to go where. My 10 year old twins go to school 3 blocks from this home and love living here since they bike to the lake and sometimes venture to the biking trails. Both Jim and I work for ourselves in typical Austin style. I'm a slightly alternative physical therapist and Jim is a real estate agent (just in case you love Austin so much you decide to move here!).

Why Jean Gabbay chose Austin

I bought this home in 2004 and completely remodeled it to fit my growing family. I added a second floor and a new kitchen which I have absolutely loved! Now that Jim and I are together we've once again outgrown this home but can't bear to sell it so are offering it for vacationers who want to enjoy a quiet haven while visiting fabulous Austin.

What makes this house unique

I know it's eccentric but I always dreamed of having a fireplace in my kitchen. Even in our warm climate being able to switch on the fire(it's gas) in the mornings instantly creates a cozy atmosphere. My goal when I remodeled the house was for every room to feel comfortable, open and be uniquely beautiful!

Car: recommended

Walk to Ladybird Johnson hike and bike trail, close to Barton Springs Pool and historic downtown Austin. The rental is at the edge of the central business district, in a walkable family oriented neighborhood. Whole Foods is 5 minutes away. Easy access to all the great downtown restaurants and world class shopping. By George, Anthropologie, BookPeople, Waterloo Records, Lululemon, Lush, Jonathan Adler, Amy's Ice Cream are all a short drive away and within walking distance of each other. All major Austin activities are within a mile or two of the house.
