This is a perfect 1 bedroom vacation rental (440 Sq. Ft., Sleeps 4) hidden in the very center of the premium part of the Saint Germain des Pres district on the Left Bank in Paris, France. It was completely remodeled and refurnished in 2011 and is located on a narrow one lane passage just a block from the Seine right at the Pont des Arts pedestrian bridge that crosses directly to the Louvre Museum. Here you can walk the small streets filled with every art gallery imaginable, relax at one of the many bistros, or browse the well known food markets on Rue Buci. This area is walking distance from the Louvre, the Jardin des Tuileries, Chatelet Les-Halles on the Right Bank, the Place Saint Michel in the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame Cathedral on the Ile de la Cite, the Ile Saint Louis, the Sorbonne, and even a bit further to the Jardin du Luxembourg.
This is a completely modern and restored one bedroom pied-a-terre that is nested high under the roof. It is sunny, calm, quiet, and overlooks a private interior courtyard filled with trees and flowering plants. Located on the 5th, and top, floor (without elevator so there are four flights of stairs) the views are of neighboring roofs and the sky. The whole apartment has high ceilings as it is directly under the roof and has old wooden white painted ceiling beams so it feels spacious. The main living room has a modern and comfortable double sofa-bed and two small utility tables. It is equipped with a wall mounted flat screen Cable TV, Stereo, and DSL Internet access with Wi-Fi. One end has a granite dining table (seats four) separating the salon from the kitchen area.
The kitchen has a refrigerator, a conventional gas convection oven, a four burner gas cook-top, a Microwave oven, Dishwasher, and a clothes washer/dryer combo machine.
The bedroom has a Queen Size bed and built in storage in the wall at the foot of the bed.
The tiled bathroom has a basin, toilet, and large walk-in shower with an electric sky-light in the roof overhead.
We just returned from a month in Europe. A highlight was our stay at this lovely flat in Paris. It is a lovely space that has been remodeled very tastefully. Having a dishwasher and washing machine was a HUGE bonus. The bathroom was large for Europe and very nice. The location for this flat is unbeatable. We were able to walk just about everywhere we wanted to go. The neighborhood is fantastic with restaurants and cute streets just outside the door. The flat does have a four flight walk up, and it did not bother us one bit. It didn't seem like four flights, perhaps because of the charm of the old building and our excitement for returning to our lovely space. I highly recommend this unit to anyone wanting to feel like a local and be in the center of things.
We stayed in this apartment for a week in December. It was clean and in excellent condition. We found the heat easy to regulate and the wifi worked well. The bed was incredibly comfortable! The apartment was modern and plenty big for the two of us. It was up 4 flights of stairs in a building without an elevator -- not a problem for us. We found the location to be ideal. Bakeries, groceries, Metro, Louvre, all within easy walking distance. The apartment was on a quiet street in an area full of art galleries. Our favorite restaurant close by was Fish (La Boissonerie). We would definitely choose to stay here again.
I found this listing very accurate for this lovely apartment in a prime neighborhood for walking, sight-seeing to all the interesting attractions in Paris, fresh food shopping, gallery browsing, and a variety of restaurants. The spacious apartment has a very comfortable bed and is very quiet at night. The bathroom has a generously sized shower and the kitchen is very well supplied. Lots of windows allow light and fresh air into the space and it is very obviously well-maintained. Service by Hutton's Paris Apartments was excellent!
We had a wonderful experience at St Germain Pied-A-Terre. The pictures and description of the apt were perfect. It was even more charming than the pictures could show. It has beautiful french windows that let in light and fresh air but not a lot of noise. The apt was very clean & neat and ready for us. All the amenities worked without any problem. There was someone there to go over instructions and answer any questions and even set up WiFi. We had no problems that we needed to call but they made themselves very available if problems had occurred. The location is terrfic for walking to many sights. We walked to the Louvre, Notre Dame, Luxemburg Gardens, The Jardin de Tuillerires, the Arc de Triomphe to name a few. It is also close to many Metros and buses. Bus 69 takes you to Pere LaChaise and Eiffel Tower and bus 95 goes to Montmarte. Both buses are close to the apt. We recommend Gerard Mulot for pastries, Carton for bread, Grom for ice cream, Au Beaujolis for a great dinner. Rue de Busi is a lively and fun street as well. We loved this apt and would recommend it to friends & family. We hope to stay there again soon.
My daughter and I stayed in this lovely apartment for 10 days at the beginning of May 2012. It could not possibly be in a better location for our needs: across the Seine from the Louvre, a short walk to Notre Dame, in a vibrant shopping and dining area and close to the subway line and a Velib stand for bike rental. The apartment faces into a private courtyard so there is very little street noise. A compact kitchen was more than adequate for our needs and the spacious shower in the up-dated bathroom was more than I would have expected in a building of this age!
The only drawbacks are: Initially it was a little difficult to find - even by the taxi driver! Also, it is a 5th floor walk up on a very old staircase - navigating suitcases up and down the stairs was a challenge for a young person! Also, the bedroom does not have a door so there is very little privacy between the living room and the bedroom.
I would definitely love to stay in this flat again despite these minor limitations.
