Shelburne is the perfect home base for your visit to the Burlington and Lake Champlain region. Our fantastic house is located in a very quiet neighborhood away from all traffic. We are less than 1 mile from the charming village of Shelburne; 15 minutes from downtown Burlington and the airport; and 45 minutes to the closest ski resort.
Shelburne attractions include the world-renowned Shelburne Museum, Shelburne Farms, Shelburne Vineyards, and the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory. There are several outstanding restaurants, art galleries, a wine & coffee shop, bookstore, toy store, and a quintessential Vermont country store. Naturally we also have a neighborhood supermarket, library, and good public transportation, and bikes available for rent.
In the warmer months there are numerous outdoor activities to choose from: the public tennis court and playground is located two blocks away, and just three blocks away is the beginning of fantastic hiking trail that leads down to Lake Champlain. Great hiking trails can also be found at Shelburne Farms and Mt. Philo. The biking is also great in this region, and we provide rental bikes and bike tours out of our rental property (see Great Bike Tours at www.greatbiketours.com). Many folks also come to Shelburne for the fine boating on Lake Champlain. In the winter we serve as a cozy New England getaway. There are numerous opportunities for snowshoeing, x-country skiing, and sleigh rides, and the ski resorts are a mere 45-minute drive away.

We have a safe and very quiet neighborhood. It is a quick 15-minute walk to the center of Shelburne with all of its fine restaurants, shops, and the famous Shelburne Museum. If you walk/cycle in the other direction (one mile away), then you'll discover the beaches of Lake Champlain along with the exquisite Shelburne Farms (also great for snowshoeing & x-country skiing in winter).
My friends and I had a great stay in September, 2014. We had a wedding to attend in nearby Shelburne Farms and the location was perfect. The house had everything we could need. Highly recommend.
House is located in a quiet neighborhood, with ample yard and a woodsy feel. The home offers 4 nice bedrooms, and several spaces for a variety of uses: meals or chats on a spacious screened-in porch, family room with sound system and a pool table, seating around a fire pit in the backyard, and a well-stocked kitchen where we could prepare our meals. Owner was immediately available by phone to answer any questions. We enjoyed the house so much, it nearly kept us from exploring the area! Highly recommend this rental to families. Make sure to visit near-by Shelburne Farms for trails and cultural/regional learning opportunities. The village of Shelburne is very nice as well.
Renting this house for our family vacation worked out really well. Our group included 5 adults and 2 children, and there was plenty of space for everyone. The house and furnishings are very well maintained, and there are lots of spaces to spread out and relax: living room, large screened it porch and game room. We loved eating out on the porch and having campfires in the fire pit in the evenings. We also played a lot of pool. With a toddler that naps midday, the location was perfect as there was lots to do within easy driving and biking distance. We wish we had brought our bikes! The owners were very helpful and available to answer questions. We'd like to return next year.
My wife, me and our two little ones really enjoyed this house. The property is located on a quiet residential street within in walking distance to "downtown" Shelburne, the Shelburne Museum, Shelburne Farm (a bit of a longer walk, but very enjoyable), and the local school with its playgrounds. Although it was quite hot during our visit, the house stayed remarkably cool (with some help on the hotter days from the upstairs AC units). We also enjoyed the screened-in porch many nights and the pool room was a perfect "play room" for the kids (their dad also enjoyed playing pool when the kids were sleeping - the sound from the game did not travel to the upstairs bedrooms). The kitchen had everything and more needed for cooking and baking (including a fine selection of spices). The bedrooms were very comfortable. Really a great place to stay when visiting the Burlington area with family. We hope to be back soon.
A member of my family was getting married in Burlington, so we needed somewhere to house 3 couples and a toddler for the wedding-week. This house was perfect for us! It had easy access to everything we needed, was exactly the right size for our group, and the porch and eat-in kitchen gave us ample room to entertain other family members. The house is charming and feels like a home, not a rental. We'd certainly recommend it to friends and strangers alike!
We rented this house to celebrate our son's graduation from UVM. It was a perfect "home base" for our celebratory week in the Burlington area. The owners are also innkeepers and it shows. The house is immaculate and has many conveniences:
- spacious - comfortably sleeps and entertains a large group (4BR with double or queen beds + futon),
- located very near Shelburne Museum and Shelburne Farms and also a good base for visiting Burlington and the surrounding area,
- a large screened-in porch and fire-pit served well for an impromptu grad party,
- quiet wooded neighborhood,
- quality towels & linens, and
- nearby casual cycling and hiking opportunities.
We definitely recommend and would love to return.
