Two of the top floor bedrooms have such dim lighting they are unusable. I called Cool Cabins immediately upon arrival and told them that I and my daughters could barely see where the beds were, and we certainly could not unpack and find see clothes well enough to unpack. They could not care less. "The lights are probably dim on purpose and nobody can do anything about it." We ended up collecting lamps from other rooms and bringing them in to light it up. And if you want the only home, hotel, motel, cabin, or cottage in the continental United States that does not have a hair dryer in any bathroom, this is your place.
I shouldn't have been too surprised about the management company's "don't bother me" attitude. After securing the property by credit card, I had to call back a nearly a week later to ask them to confirm, to provide a contract, to provide details, and to give us directions.
I don't blame the owner for any of this. I think the management company never passes on complaints to the owner… they just don't care. The house is great and the grounds go on forever. I have no doubt that if the owner knew that renters were begging for directions, felling around in the dark, collecting lamps, and going outside with wet hair, they'd find new management.
