I'm a high end custom furniture, cabinet and home builder who loves to fish! I built this home to serve as the ideal retreat for fisherman and mountain bikers in summer, hunters in fall and skiers in winter.
Bronwyn Hennessy purchased this lodge in 2005
I built this home in the perfect location, just 10 minutes drive to downtown Bozeman and 20 minutes to the Gallatin River and Bridger Bowl Ski Area, the lodge is secluded, private and serene.
While staying on the property my wife and I hike, ski, bike and fish without ever having to get in a car! Just sitting on the deck in the summer sipping wine and listening to the creek is a nice way to relax at the end of the day.
Your house exceeded our expectations! It is true the pictures, as grand as they appear, are still understated for the actual visit. What a relaxing Montana experience your home is. The creeks and the ponds lend to a beautiful environment outside, and the house was so easy to cook and entertain in. We had up to 10 people for dinners and still had room at the grand table. The rustic elegance of the home even had our in town family staying the night! Thank you very much for making this gorgeous property available to out of town travelers and hope that we will be able to visit again very soon. No need to look for another place to stay. To stay in the canyon and still be so close to town. I will sum it all up with WOW!
This house was more than perfect. We had a great time-wonderful fires with lots of wood. Li hope we go back and I highly recommend. Thank you!!!!
We loved the cabin. Even when the thermometer hit -25 outside, the inside was warm and cozy. I was surprised that such a large place was not drafty at all. The fireplace was also wonderful. The cabin itself is extremely comfortable and well-build. There is extensive use of reclaimed wood to give it an old-fashioned feel, but none of the floors or stairs even creaked a bit. A testament to the builder (who I think is the owner). We would definitely like to return in the summer months. Thanks for a great stay.
Our stay at the Sourdough Canyon Lodge was better than expected. The house was perfect, and the acreage provided great opportunities for outdoor exploration. We saw deer and rabbits from inside the house. We listened to the creek flow by at night, and we enjoyed a relaxing evening sauna. Bronwyn and Tom were both wonderful and extremely responsive to our needs. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone traveling to Bozeman. It's far enough out of town to have complete privacy, and it's close enough to make running into town simple and easy. Thanks for a great stay!
Provides the "woods" retreat with style and elegance. Would definitely come back again. It does not disappoint.
This home was absolutely stunning on both the inside and outside. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was very comfortable. The owner was great and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Thanks for all the extra wood.
