Post & Beam Shaker inspired, open floor plan, three levels, 6 bedrooms, 5 baths. Views, decks, land to roam around on! Fireplace floor to ceiling, cathedral open sided! Come you won't want to leave!
The property is close to Jiminy Peak Ski Area, Mt. Greylock Mt. Reservation, MAss Moca art gallery, Francine & Clark Art Institute, Jacob's Pillow, Tanglewood, just to name a few.
This spacious, modern house was a great place for our summer family reunion. It easily accomodated our seven adults, seven kids, and one dog. The kitchen in particular was great (except for a slightly malfunctioning oven, which I imagine has been fixed), and the outdoor areas could not have been more lovely, relaxing, and well maintained. The location is quite remote, which means quiet but also a 20+ minute drive to the nearest supermarket. Highly recommended.
Ideally located in the Berkshires! We had a family group including 90-year old grandparents, and everyone loved the house - whether sharing meals around the open kitchen, chasing children around the large surrounding gardens, or (most popular with our group) watching the deer and horses wander in the fields and the sun and clouds shift over the mountains. Beautifully designed and maintained with comfortable private bedrooms and numerous family areas, including basement with futons, an open overlooking loft on the second floor, charming turret reached by a spiral staircase, a back deck, and porch with rockers. Secluded but also close to Berkshire attractions and Williamstown restaurants. Recommend highly - words don't do it justice. Definitely would like to return and see more of the area - and spend more timing watching the view of the Berkshires from the vaulted living room!
Every year my family gets together for Easter weekend. This year our group of 16 included five adult siblings and our spouses, our 88 year old mom, 3 adult nephews and two young nieces. This property seemed like it would be perfect - and it was! For the first time, no one was sleeping on a blowup mattress or the floor :)
The kitchen was a little disorganized but had everything we needed and there was plenty of room for all of the cooks -- and for decorating the four dozen Easter eggs. Another plus is that we were able to get all of us around the dining room table - using the extra table and folding chairs.
We enjoyed the fact there was no television in the main living room -- it gave us the opportunity to play some board games and listen to our aspiring ukulelists. There was also plenty of different spaces for anyone who needed a little quiet or alone time.
The property was great for our Easter egg hunt, as well as hula hooping, bubble blowing and just enjoying the sunshine.
Some of us visited the Norman Rockwell Museum, others went to the Hancock Shaker Museum, while others went to the Mass MOCA. Everyone agreed the location was wonderful and that we should plan to come back here again next year so we could explore the area even more.
This is a very large house in a perfect location in the Berkshires. The big open area with a two-sided fireplace between the dining and living room is cozy and comfortable. There is a nice master suite with a large bath that connects to a small office. Four bedrooms and two baths and a seating area are on the second level and a spiral staircase leads to another sleeping/gathering area. On the basement level there is yet another gathering area with doors that lead out to a hot tub.
Plusses are the location and lots of space for a big family. A few negatives include the fact that rhe house is a bit shopworn, beds are lumpy. The kitchen utensils, pots, and pans were very disorganized, and in some cases dirty and greasy. There were not enough containers in the garage for trash and recycling materials.
A family member discovered a broken window in one of the bedrooms when she raised the blinds. She said the window was dirty, and looked as if it had been broken for a long time.
However, All in all, we had a fun week. There was plenty of room to spread out , but be together whenever we wanted. We organized and cleaned the kitchen supplies, so we were able to cook our Thanksgiving dinner, and the ample kitchen island provided a good buffet space.
We all enjoyed the holiday week together
This was dream week for a 12-person hiking group. The house is fabulous and in a beautiful setting of hills, enhanced by the fall colors. We were only a few miles from Greylock and the Williamstown area, and not far from the rest of the Berks and the Taconic Region, so the hiking (and other outdoor activity) options are quite numerous. The house was very comfortable for 12, but could easily hold a few more, yet is cozy (despite its size) when you are alone. You can enjoy the great view sitting outside or inside, from the living room's large widows, or from within the hot tub. There is so much more left to explore in that area that we can't wait to get back!
My extended family and I loved spending a week at this wonderful home. Most of the time there were just 13 of us, but for a couple of nights there were 15 - 20, and there really was plenty of room. The whole place is in excellent condition, really nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The surrounding landscape is very beautiful. Lots of places to sit outside and enjoy the view. This was one of our favorite vacation rentals ever. We didn’t want to leave!
