Villa Colina is the perfect family vacation home in Sayulita's best neighborhood! Only 2 blocks to the beach and town center in Sayulita's most sought after vacation rental neighborhood!

This special property recently went through a massive remodel by Sayulita's finest architect. Almost every square inch of the property was remodeled along with new tropical gardens and brand new furnishings and art - some of it is antique too. It is now an incredible vacation property for the family or group that wants beauty, comfort, old Mexico charm with modern amenities, and immediate access to beach and town.

There are 3 bedrooms with full baths. There are two master suites with king beds - both with private terraces, incredible ocean views and one with its own private two person bathtub in a small private garden. A third bedroom suite has 2 queen beds - one on the main floor and another in the wonderful loft. It has a kitchenette, its own private patio with amazing ocean, town and mountain views, plus an outdoor lounge/bed. From this bedroom you will also have immediate access to the upper palapa terrace with ocean views.

There is also a den that can be used as a 4th bedroom. It can be completely closed off and it has its own bathroom. There are 2 couches that can be made up as 2 single beds or one queen bed.

Numerous amenities are provided in this uniquely charming property. A heated, ozone-treated pool with wading area for the kids in a delightful garden setting with awesome ocean views will be yours. This sunny outdoor site with palapa living area will be a major gathering spot for everyone.

Inside the house you will find every convenience. Here is a partial list of the amenities:

About Owner/Property Manager

My wife, Joan, and I, Dennis, live most of the time in an area frequently referred to as the northern tip of the wine country in California, just above Napa Valley. I recently sold my Internet Marketing Company and my wife winding down her successful art business. We are semi-retired now, but still manage to keep busy with all my real estate projects, family, friends and involvement in our spiritual community. We travel quite a bit together and with our two married daughters and their husbands and their growing families. One of our daughters is a successful Interior Architect in Los Angles who is married to an entrepreneur who is the majority owner and CEO of a major software company. The other daughter is an occupational therapist, whose husband is the cameraman for many of the Home and Garden TV Network shows that we all love. We are an active group. We all love to ski, hike, scuba dive, surf, bike, boat, ride motorcycles, and hang out together in beautiful environments.

We are recent grandparents with both daughters and are thoroughly enjoying this delightful new addition to our lives.

Owner/Property Manager purchased this villa in 2011

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Sayulita

We already own Casa Paloma which is a premier luxury rental property right next door and because our renters really love Casa Paloma and we fully book it for the season, we decided to create another beautiful vacation rental home next door. We always loved this little house and because no properties come up for sale in this exclusive area of Sayulita, we knew we should jump on this. However, it needed extensive remodeling to make it the kind of place that we would want to own and rent. We feel the finished project will be exceptional and we are very excited with the progress.

What makes this villa unique

In addition to the incredible beauty and comfort of the house, the location is really the best in all of Sayulita. You are above the hustle and bustle of the town and yet everything is only a couple of blocks away. No car is necessary.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We absolutely loved Villa Colina. It was beautifully decorated, well planned, clean, and clearly loved. There was plenty of room and we felt completely at home. The pool was a must for us. It was perfect and private. We were minutes from the main areas of Sayulita making it easy to eat whenever we wanted. And get to the beach, whenever we wanted. We love to walk and enjoyed many walks from Villa Colina, both down the beach and into the jungle to the south. A truly exceptional property. We can't wait to return.

semana santa tranquility...kinda

  • 5 of 5

4th family trip to sayulita and our first outside of villa amor. very very happy with our stay. the house is great! very comfy beds and lots of room. the kids staying in separate houses was ok but a little nerve racking for my wife due to the remote possibility of a nighttime break in. (This did happen to a family we met at their house on the north end of town while we were down there. They had an intruder scale a wall and enter in the middle of the night and take valuables that were arms length away from their sleeping kids. Kinda scary to hear about!) Anyway, the other great things about this property were the pool (plenty big enough for a small gathering), the outside palapa zone by the pool (furniture could be a bit more comfy), and the open flow from the pool area to the living room allowing an in/out feel. We had a chef cook for us one night that was arranged through Ernesto which worked out well. Id give an 8/10 due to the bland nature of the food but I think she may have been trying to make the kids happy. We caught a Sierra (a type of Spanish Makerel) which she cooked perfectly.

Semana Santa is kind of a nightmare time to go as we found out. The house on the hill aspect definitely made for a better experience than if we were down near the town but it was still super loud with the several traveling troupes of marching band music (not my fave to begin with) that went until 4 am some of the nights. There was also a rave which brought even more people into the sleepy surf village. Word on the street was that the population of Sayulita went from 6k to 15k that week and it definitely felt like it.

Im looking forward to going back down and would love to hit this pad again but I sure wont go to a tourist destination in Mexico for semana santa again!

Wonderful Home

  • 5 of 5

This is a long overdue endorsement of Villa Colina. Our whole family stayed here in January and it was an incredible vacation. We love Sayulita but what made our vacation so enjoyable was staying at Villa Colina. Its location, just a couple of blocks from main beach and town center via a beautiful garden pathway, was really special. We loved the ambience of this entire property. There was space and privacy for everyone, awesome ocean views, terrific pool with wading area for the smaller kids, palapa sitting area by the pool, lovely tropical gardens, and super comfy beds - just to mention a couple of things. This house is so much more and better than the description or photos show. We could not have asked for better staff that took special care of all our needs. We go on vacation every year and this was our best ever. We will be coming back and would not think of staying anywhere else.

Stunning View

  • 5 of 5

After staying at Villa Colina for a week recently, I can highly recommend it. The view is beautiful and the location is perfect for access to Sayulita and the beaches. The home is well stocked, comfortably fits 7 people with several areas for a quiet get away to read your book or nap, and has a very attentive staff to help with any needs. I would definitely stay there again.

we loved casa colina. six adults 4 children (9,7,3,9mos). one family stayed in the room with the loft-two children up two adults down. one couple in one suite, one couple in another suite, two children in the den turned into the fourth bedroom. The outdoor gazebo eating area was fantastic. pool was great. Housekeeper was unbelievably thorough. Location was perfect five minutes from beach five minutes from town. Good restaurants in town. We particularly liked Burrito revolution and Marys. There is noise at night but not prohibitively bothersome.

Villa Colina

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in Sayulita, at the Villa Colina, with family and friends to celebrate a destination wedding. Our group was very impressed with both the villa and the entire vacation experience. The villa's location was ideal for our needs - it was only a few minutes walk on a landscaped path to the downtown plaza square, or the main beach situated in front of Don Pedros' restaurant. In addition, we were able to easily walk along the south beach to the Hotel Amor, Los Muertos Beach, and the beautiful cliff-top Palapa Brisa delMar, where our family wedding was held.

The Villa Colina felt like our own private resort area. The layout of this home was perfect for our group needs. It offered 3 spectacular separate bedroom suites with private baths; a tv room that was re-arranged to become a 4th bedroom for us; and a spacious general living room/kitchen area with glass doors that folded back to provide a romantic open air access to the patio and pool area. We all loved relaxing by either the pool, or under the adjacent shaded thatched-roof gazebo. The private pool area was beautifully landscaped, with a cutout area between the trees that offered a stunning view of the main beach area, surfers, and the mountains. The "tower" apartment and loft with 2 tiered balconies also offered awesome views of the Sayulita beach front coastline.

The staff at Villa Colina was wonderful. The housekeeper, Anna, was so gracious and helpful. She and the grounds caretaker, Joe, worked hard every day to keep the villa immaculate, and to meet all our needs. They made our time in Sayulita feel like "paradise."

Villa Colina! Your own Private Resort.

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 5 wonderful relaxing days at Villa Colina. From the moment we contacted Dennis to the writing of this review the process of booking, payment, arrival, our stay, and departure was seamless.

The house was extremely comfortable, clean, and well maintained and minutes to downtown Sayulita and the beach. But, if you wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the town and purely relax, Villa Colina was like having your own private resort. You are surrounded by beautiful gardens in a stunning backyard with your own private pool and spectacular view of the beach and Pacific. There is plenty of room to hang out poolside or under the shade of the palapa. The owners provide you with suggestions for everything you could possibly need from transportation, grocery shopping, things to do, places to eat. Just follow their lead. You won't be sorry. Ernesto oversees the property during your stay and is very helpful with anything that you might need. He arranged for a private cook for us on a couple of nights and we were treated to some delicious authentic home cooked Mexican dishes.

We can't wait to get back to Villa Colin! Enjoy!
