Best beach location on the Huron shore!

OWNERS: Exceptional! Truly nice peole. They answer the phone when you call. Answered several questions I had about the property & area. Were very flexible with my arival time. Were very respondent when a minor glitch occured at the cabin. Even offered to mail my camera charger back to me!
BEACH: Fine sand, very few shells or seaweed, not a rock to be found. Even the lake bottom is beautiful - fine sand, noting sharp or yucky on the bottom. We walked the beach for several miles in each direction and there is NOT a better beach location. There are definitely flaws on the Huron shoreline, but none of them reside at this location.
LAKE: Very shallow water for several feet, then it gets about shoulder deep, then a sandbar where the water is very shallow again. Sandbar allows for pretty gentle waters, yet enough waves resdie to lull you to sleep at night. Again, fine sandy bottom and crystal-clear water.
CABIN: Nestled on the very edge of the Huron Natl Forest, this cabin offers shade and the ambiance you want from a northern Michigan cabin. Kept in great condition, it is clean and very 'homey.' Comfortable furniture and warm decor are very inviting on those rainy, overcast days. The kitchen boasts an impressive stock of cookware, bakeware, and serveware. Towels and paper goods are ample, and the 'basics' are supplied - spices, condiments, etc. The sitting room that faces the beach has a huge bay window that is great for looking at the waves or watching a storm over the water.
OUTDOOR: The outdoor amenities of this cabin that are exceptional. Features include a huge wood deck with umbrella table and charcoal grill, a hot-tub, a patio fire-pit, a hammock, and a beach fire-pit with seating. Plus there is seating down at the shoreline. As stated above, the back deck is shaded with a breathtaking view of the beach and Lake Huron.
CONS: 1) Water supply is very hard. I do not recommend washing your 'whites' in the washer. In fact, the water is so hard that the residual iron on your body (from the shower) will rub off on your whites and stain them a bit. Just avoid white clothing, and all will be good! 2) No air conditioning. Even in northern Michigan, it can reach 90+ (Which is occasional) and although there are ample windows to open, 93 is still a bit much without AC. We were there the last week of July and only needed AC 2 days, so it's probably not a persistent need.
BOTTOM LINE: Rent this cabin. You will NOT find a better one for the price!
