Our Brand New Home is Nestled between the Mountains and the Sea in the Heart of Acadia National Park.

Experience grand views of Cadillac, Door, Champlain and Gorham Mnts from your 'base camp'. The Large open floor plan was designed to accommodate large festive gatherings. Quality LL Bean linens and towels are offered to ensure comfort during your stay.

We are on the Island Explorer bus line-Simply walk down the short driveway to the Otter Creek Market to utilize the Free service- comes hourly. The Market is a convenient store for any necessities- a larger grocery store is located in Bar Harbor 3 miles away. Enjoy the town playground which is also across from the Otter Creek Market. Nearby trails will take you to Otter Cove and Ocean Drive/Park Loop Road which lead to Otter Cliffs, Sand Beach and Gorham Mountain. Relax at Seal Harbor Beach or Jordan Pond which is only 3 miles away. We have a great central location to allow you to embrace all the wonders of this beautiful area.

LOCATION! Feel like you are Away from it all without being too far away! View the Mountains of Acadia from the house and deck in a quiet village only 5 minutes outside of Bar Harbor.

This house is in the most convenient location for being close to it all! Sand beach, Seal Harbor Beach, Jordan Pond, Eagle Lake, Carriage Roads, Park Loop Road, Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor Thunderhole Cadillac Mountain are all within a 3-10 min drive from the property!

House is newly constructed Spring 2011 and designed to accommodate large festive gatherings. Relax on the large deck that gets Morning, afternoon and evening sun. The sunny backyard invites ball playing and games while enjoying the mountain views. Enjoy a fire in the evening around the fireplace under the stars! An open floor plan allows ease of conversation and comfort between the kitchen, living, and dining rooms. Plenty of comfortable seating assures comfort for all. Large living space invites mingling, family games, movie viewing, or quiet reading and relaxing while taking in the beautiful views. Large windows from dining and living area provide views while cooking or relaxing. Our simple Maine Home Design will compliment your Maine vacation experience.

Your hosts, Sue and Kevin live right up and across the street. We are available to assist you during your vacation.

Sue specializes in carriage/mountain trail knowledge as well as advising on other activities available in the area. Kevin was born and raised on Mount Desert Island and has a wealth of knowledge of the island's history and current events. Sue and Kevin are able to recommend appropriate restaurants and services depending on your needs.

We are located in the perfect central location for you to enjoy your vacation. The village of Otter Creek is completely surrounded by Acadia National Park. Experience being in the heart of Acadia, while being only 3 miles from Bar Harbor. Cadillac South Ridge Trail and a local village trail to Otter Cove are a short walk from our home. Sand Beach, Jordan Pond, Ocean Drive, Otter Cliffs, Cadillac Mountain entrance, Seal Harbor Beach are all approximately a 5 minute drive from our property. The island explorer bus also stops directly across the street which gives you the opportunity to use this free bus system to ride into Bar Harbor with your bikes to explore the national park. Local trails lead you to Otter Cove and The Park Loop Road which leads to Otter Cliffs,Ocean Path,Sand Beach and numerous hiking trails. A Playground is a 1 min walk away

Our convenient location will allow you to see Acadia in an efficient manner while feeling away from it all --surrounded by mountains

Other Activities: Talk with us to discover some of the more special areas of the island that the tourists miss when they visit. We can help guide you to the appropriate outfitter for kayaking, biking, sailing, whalewatching, and more. We are happy to suggest our favorite trails and recommend what is appropriate for your difficulty level.

Ski: Cross Country Skiing is FANTASTIC here in the winter when the carriage roads are covered in snow!

Perfect for a Reunion!

Thank you for letting us have the house for this week! We had a great stay. The house and the view are beautiful! The house was very comfortable and all of the amenities were excellent! We love the location- close to bar harbor but felt away from it all! We will be coming back soon!

Location! Location! Location!

First night, we walked across the street to the Otter Creek Market and brought back a delicious Lobster Dinner which we enjoyed on the deck while enjoying the view. The fall view from the deck is gorgeous! We also enjoyed this house's convenience to the Park and to Bar Harbor.

Great Home!--from our guest book

Its been an eventful, fun-filled week for our family. Despite the heat wave, a record high of 96 on Friday, we were able to hike several mountains, kayak, go whale watching, bike on carriage paths, use the free shuttle from the house, and thoroughly enjoy the "Park" and Bar Harbor.
Your house was very comfortable and a perfect location for all our activities. Thank you for answering all of our "touristy" questions and guiding us to the best experiences!
We look forward to returning to Acadia!

Great Time BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!

Thank you for the great stay at your home! We fell in love with Acadia and Bar Harbor.
We appreciated the quiet location with fabulous views as you described!
It wasn't far from Bar Harbor which made day tripping easy!
Many Acadia trails and sites were relatively close to this location.
The kitchen was well supplied-we liked the open floor plan.
Linens were comfortable and good quality.

We hope to return in the future. We had a wonderful time!
