House, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)
Main floor of a two storey house on a bluff overlooking south entrance to beautiful Dodds Narrows, Mudge Island, Round Island and Mount Baker.
One bedroom with a full bathroom, and extra sleeping on cots/futons for kids and guests.
3/4 acre property set in a dead end road in a very private setting. Watch the yachts sail by from the living room, dining room kitchen, private garden or your private hot tub on the deck!
A fire pit can be used overlooking the ocean when fire bans not in effect, or walk to the beach in minutes. Cable Trail is minutes away for hiking to the heart of Dodds Narrows and an up close view of yachts navigating through the narrows.
If you have a boat the public launch is minutes away. Kayak and sail boat rentals are minutes away by car in both Ladysmith and Nanaimo. This is a boater's paradise. If the owner is around (Hamish lives in Edmonton) he may even be persuaded to take you for a sail on his 30 foot sloop the Crown Jewel moored at the nearby Ladysmith marina. If you are in the mood for English pub fare the Crow and Gate pub is also minutes away on Yellow Point Road.
This is truly the best of all worlds: a boater's paradise, a private secluded get-away with a beautiful zen-like garden with a view yet close to all amenities if you want to get out and about.

Being the son of a Scottish sailor I grew up on the prairies but was taught to sail on the treacherous northern Alberta lakes. It's a dream come true to now own a vacation property and a boat on the west coast and I'm thrilled at the opportunity of sharing it with others!
During the week I'm a ho hum engineer designing mechanical systems. But when I'm at my house in Cedar by the Sea I'm ALIVE!!
This is a perfect spot to get away. Minutes from the Nanaimo airport this house is the great combination of seclusion, view, and proximity to 'things to do'.
I love everything about the house at Cedar by the Sea. In the morning I can take my coffee or tea on to the deck and sit between the fruit trees and watch the sun rise out of the east over the water.
In the afternoon I can walk down to the beach and collect driftwood, watch the yachts sail by or just relax. In the evening I can BBQ on the deck and enjoy the ocean view from the hot tub. Oh yeah, if I actually want to leave the property there's a whole lot of things to do in nearby Ladysmith, Nanaimo, Chemainus etc... A week here is too short!!!
