4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms & Loft Area - Sleeps 10 -12

This unique stone house sits in the rolling hills of Southeastern Ohio.

1st level includes: Living room with gas fireplace, dinning room with 2 tables, fully equipped kitchen, large pantry for your food storage, library, 2 bedrooms and a bath. The first floor has 10 foot ceilings.

2nd level includes: 2 bedrooms, a large loft area to watch a movie or local TV station. Also includes a bath with Slipperfoot tub.

Basement: remains primitive except for the installation of the third bath and a warm area to take off those hunting clothes

Back porch: Will sit at least 8 comfortable even in the pouring rain.

Stone House is located near The Wilds (theWilds.org a 10,000 acre wildlife consrevation center), AEP recreation land, which offers 60,000 acres of public hunting, fishing, hiking, biking (mountain and road), camping, and horse trails. Zanesville, Cambridge and Marietta are within 45 min. Other local attractions are the Byesville Scenic Railway, Salt Fork State Park, Wolf Run State Park, Seneca Lake, Buckeye Trail, Muskingum University, John and Annie Glenn Home, Stockport Mill, Georgetown Winery, Terra Cotta Vineyards and the Big Muskie Bucket.

  • Reservation/Security deposit $300.
    Additional persons $25.00 per person/per day over 10 people Children 3 and under are free.
    Maximum overnight occupancy is 14 people total.
    Visitors are not permitted during your stay but we are happy to accommodate special events. Please call!
    A weekend stay is any stay that includes a Friday , Saturday or Sunday night .
    Smoking is STRICTLY PROHIBITED in the Stone House. Smoke outside in designated areas. Dispose of all smoking items in the designated containers.
    Hunting,and operation of ATVs and discharge of firearms are STRICTLY PROHIBITED on the property. However there is public hunting within 1/2 mile of the house.
    Call for couples rate Must be 25 or older to sign contract
  • Cell phones have limited reception at Stone House but most phones will get reception on the North side of the house.

    Check -In is 3:00 pm or after. Check-out is by 11:00 am. No exceptions.

    In the event of cancellation, 1/3 of your reservation will be retained. No bank drafts accepted.

    Reservation/Security deposit and 1/2 fee due with signing of rental agreement.

    Until confirmed, rates are subject to change.

Great Bonding Experience for Group

Our organization took a group to stay in Cumberland. It turned out to be a great experience. The layout out of the house was good, as our youth members could sleep upstairs (and do what kids do) and the staff slept downstairs. The bathrooms were nice and the kitchen was spacious, so we all took turns cooking meals for our group.

A highlight of the retreat - the neighbors were friendly and we were able to have a cookout and make a fire and eat smores:) Fun time for all.

Ms. Helen, the owner, was very attentive when we had questions and has created a visitors binder that lets guests know about the area and places/things to do. We appreciate her for sharing the property and giving our organization an opportunity to bond in a nontraditional way.

Coming from Cleveland, the limited access to phones and the Internet helped all of us connect, which was really needed. I can definitely say we would come back to The Stone House to unwind.
