EXPERIENCE MOUNTAIN MAGIC IN THIS UNIQUE 3-LEVEL MOUNTAINTOP CHALET

Estes Park House Rental Photos and Description

6 Bedrooms 5.5 Baths Sleeps 12

Come to your home on the mountain and experience a magical time and place. It feels like the top of the world.

Rocky Mountain Heights is a 4,700 square feet three-level home with an amazing view from every window. Listen to the Big Thompson River from any of the bedroom balconies or windows.

Be sure you have a camera to get pictures of the wildlife that abounds in this peaceful natural environment. You could see elk, deer, fox, turkeys and big horn sheep that frequent the property that remains in its natural state - no manicured lawns or pristine flowerbeds.

Walk on 11 quiet acres. Enjoy the wildflowers or go down the road and picnic by the Big Thompson. Only a short distance gets you to wonderful mountain trails, including Roosevelt National Forest and Deserted Village in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Minutes from Estes Park, you're close to the quaint shops, restaurants and multiple kids' activities. Get your pass to Rocky Mountain National Park and visit The McGregor Ranch and museum.

A short distance from our home, you can visit the unique little community store in Glen Haven. The cinnamon rolls, cherry cobbler and real ice cream sundaes are wonderful!

Just relax, take pictures of nature's creatures in your own yard. Shop, hike, try fly fishing. Come in the fall and drink hot chocolate on the deck. Enjoy the hot tub while you watch it snow on your mountain top. (We do have 6 flat-screen satellite TVs and free wifi for insiders!)

Because we use vacation rentals when we travel, we know that a clean home and wonderful clean sheets are a must. We provide both - and more. Come and see.

Welcome to a new world...

You have a GREAT home with incredible views. During our stay we saw deer, elk, a fox, hummingbirds, bats and a bear visited twice. Our boys had a lot of fun exploring and we all enjoyed the hikes.

Thank you again!!

Our family works together and vacations together. We own a home health, hospice, and private pay health care agency that serves central Oklahoma. We're also a 3rd generation farm and ranch family raising registered Angus cattle.

We all love open spaces, mountains and wildlife.

Estes Park has been a favorite vacation destination for our family that includes 9 grandchildren. We've visited during all seasons and have always had plenty for everyone to enjoy. The wildlife in the Park is incredible but when we saw the wildlife on this property, we decided to enjoy our own private wildlife viewing area. The best thing about our location is our location! It's close to town, too.

Come, relax. Be amazed.

AWESOME VACATION

  • 5 of 5
I must say, what a wonderful time we had at your Mountain Home. Your home is decorated so perfect it fits the scenery so well. The views we woke up to every morning were so awesome. We enjoyed the hot tub at 6:00 am with our coffee, it was magnificent. My niece got the most use out of it, she loved it. We all slept like babies, the beds were very comfortable, everything was just perfect.
Our sons wedding at Lyons Crest was another perfect day, all their hard work and planning came together for another memorable day. And we now have a wonderful daughter-in-law.
Thank you both so much for all your help in planning this Colorado vacation,
Tanya and her family

CLOSE TO HEAVEN

  • 5 of 5
We had our annual family reunion in Estes Park this year and this home was perfect for our group. It is very spacious, with several areas for all to gather and visit comfortably or find a comfy chair and read a book all by yourself. Outside deck affords beautiful mountain panorama during the day and spectacular star gazing at night. The home is situated so that you feel that you are on your own private mountain. It is very clean, well appointed and has everything we needed. The kitchen is stocked with a big set of nice dishes and silverware and plenty of cookware. The baths had plenty of towels for everyone. The bedrooms were all unique and very inviting with nice bedding, bear skin rugs and nice decor. The owners are very nice, friendly and helpful. The property is located about 15 minutes from the downtown shopping, restaurants and park entrance. We would definitely stay here again if we return to this area.

BEAUTIFUL RETREAT WITH SPECTACULAR VIEWS!

  • 5 of 5
Our visit to Estes Park was made all the more enjoyable given our stay at Rocky Mountain Heights. It’s just far enough away from town to provide a peaceful refuge away from the hustle and bustle yet close enough to all the activities the area has to offer. The views are spectacular and the quiet is soothing. While having morning coffee we were treated to visits by wild turkeys and mule deer. The large deck with grill and hot tub made for fun gatherings. Our families had plenty of space and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The owners were responsive and accommodating with all our questions and requests. Thanks again for a wonderful vacation!

ROCKY MOUNTAIN VACATION

  • 5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rocky Mountain Heights. The home was spacious, quiet, and had incredible views from all sides. With 8 adults, we had more than enough room to spread out for some down time or join together for socialization. We especially enjoyed the deck, with a large hot tub, fire pit, dining table, and grill. We spent several evenings watching the sunset and twilight in front of the fire pit, catching up on the day’s activities. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was roomy enough to accommodate several cooks at one time. We came to Estes Park to primarily hike in RMNP. The house was close enough (~20 min drive) for daily hikes or horseback riding in RMNP, but far enough from the crowds in Estes Park to make the stay very relaxing. Rick was a pleasure to work with on the reservations and was always accessible by phone to answer questions before and during our stay. We highly recommend this location if you want to avoid the crowds in Estes Park and stay in beautiful and peaceful mountain surroundings.

GREAT FAMILY MEMORIES

  • 5 of 5
Rocky Mountain Heights gave us everything promised: A peaceful retreat and wonderful memories. Our family (six adults and four children under five) had plenty of space both to spread out and to be together. We enjoyed hiking during the day, relaxing meals on the deck, and watching the stars from the hot tub after the kids had gone to bed. From our first communication through the end of our visit, the owners have been wonderful, answering every question and responding to every need. The beds were super comfortable, the towels and sheets luxurious, and the kids especially enjoyed the large bath tup in the master bedroom. If you are looking for a home base while you hike beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park, tour the area's craft breweries, or a peaceful place to just sit and read, you cannot go wrong with this home. We definitely hope to return.

WONDERFUL FAMILY GET TOGETHER SPOT

  • 4 of 5
As other reviews have said, the property was comfortable, clean, and in a remote location with spectacular views. The house itself was spacious, easily accommodating our family group of nine adults and four children ranging in age from four months to seven years. The spacious deck with plenty of seating, two tables, a movable fire pit with plenty of split wood, a top-notch large gas grill and a newish hot tub (accommodates four adults) were well used and enjoyed by all. This vantage point allowed us to soak in all the fantastic vistas and occasional wildlife that wandered by (deer, wild turkeys and a foraging black bear one morning that looked at us for a minute and decided to wander off elsewhere).

While everything about the property was as advertised on the fact sheet, there are several clarifications we would share with others considering a stay at Rocky Mountain Heights. The house has two showers, one shower by itself on the ground level and one on the third level in a full bath between two bedrooms. All other baths in the house were actually half baths, with the three in bedrooms also having a bathtub available, one being the Roman soaking tub and the other two having small claw foot type tubs (about a foot or so shorter than a standard bathtub). Not having air conditioning was also a bit of a surprise, but this is probably typical in the area given the elevation. The local property manager was very responsive to a couple of issues that arose during our stay.

In summary, we had a fantastic time. The property location suited everyone well, whether some liked nature (nearby hiking trails and RMNP), shopping (Estes Park) or visiting the many craft beer breweries within an hour's or so drive. We all had a fantastic time and a memorable vacation.

Owner's Response: We’re glad the house was a wonderful family get together spot. Many families have enjoyed the cleanliness, comfort, and spectacular views. We strive to give each guest a 5-star vacation. We don’t mention air conditioning because not a lot of air conditioning is used at such high elevation. Estes Park has had one of the hottest summers on record and broke many daily records. This is the only time the mention of air conditioning has come up and we apologize for any discomfort. During normal summers, the many windows and calm mountain breezes keep the house nice and cool and allow you to hear the varied sounds of nature. We describe the house with 5½ bathrooms because we think of a bathroom as a tub or shower, a toilet, and a sink. That’s why we use 5½ on the property information sheet we send to all who inquire about renting. Sorry for the misunderstanding. We hope you’ll remember your fantastic time and the memorable vacation. Welcome back and come again if you’re in Estes Park!
