YOUR BEST VACATION YET! You will LOVE coming to Northern Arizona, spending time at a beautiful home at the base of the San Francisco Peaks. Our home is located in the finest private golf country club in Flagstaff, Arizona (Forest Highlands). Our very private home is on a cul-de-sac and our back yard abuts the National Forest. with completly unobstructed views of the San Francisco Peaks from every room. One of the best lots at Forest Highlands.
After you arrive, get unpacked and situated, sit outside and make your favorite beverage while enjoying one of the famous short summer afternoon thunderstorms in the months of July or August while preparing a tasty BBQ on our large covered redwood deck with the outdoor gas grill just steps away. Maybe you'll even see a beautiful Bull-Elk pack meandering out back among the Ponderosa Pines. The stars at night are spectacular. Be sure to bring your binoculars ! You can also look forward to taking nice hike out back among the 9 large ponds for wildlife operated by the State of Arizona.
Indoors, the inviting western atmosphere with three bedrooms, pine ceiling and large kitchen/family room with romantic beautiful stone fireplace will keep you cozy, in addition to the 24/7 wireless internet availability, as well as two big flat-screen televisions in the family room and master bedroom that bring you Direct TV and Net-Flix on-Demand. (Blue Ray) And don't forget to bring your swimming suits to enjoy the nice big Jacuzzi in the spa room just off the master bedroom that also looks out at the mountains. It also opens to the back patio if you need to check on your steaks on the grill!
The kitchen has all you need to make everything from a casserole to a turkey dinner. All the supplies and all the dishes. A fine old-fashioned pine dining room set table with six chairs makes it comfortable to sit down and eat there if you don't feel up to eating outdoors on the patio. Besides the refreshing mountain air, we have some of the best fawcett water this side of the Mississippi. All you need is a glass!
Just five miles away is downtown Flagstaff. Snowbowl for skiing is 30 minutes away. WallMart, restaurants, concerts, rodeos and continual festivals are all within 15 minutes. You have the best of both worlds -- private and quiet natural beauty, as well as busy, local entertainment. The world-reknowned Grand Canyon is about an hour North, and the charming colorful Oak Creek Canyon/Sedona is about an hour South (although only 20 miles by the crow!) Heading East are many other canyons and the Petrified Forest, Meteor Crater a buffalo farm! Bearizona is East of Flagstaff as well as the famous Botanical Gardens which are a great trip for children as well as adults. You will be able to find pleasure in all directions and with all cultures. See the Northern Arizona Museum of Art with fabulous displays of native American art and culture or see a Mozart concert under the stars at the University, OR a rodeo at the local fairgrounds! BB King performed at the fairgrounds last year - just to give you an idea of the entertainment we get in lil'ol' Flagstaff! If you love reading, not only is there a great Barnes & Noble store about 7 miles away, the Northern Arizona University Library is equidistant. And summer classes there also! You just can't be bored!!!
At the house, we have a two-car garage and a special parking place along side the house for an RV or boat parking, whichever you prefer. A long driveway also accommodates guests you may have.
