Nestled in the woods at the end of a private road, this charming Swiss-style chalet provides all you’ll need for a great family vacation in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Situated by a mountain brook with views of tall pines out every window, you’ll enjoy the convenience of having Cranmore Mountain and North Conway Village within easy walking distance. In winter, a quick drive also gets skiers to Attitash, King Pine or Wildcat mountains, or you can X-country at lovely Jackson Village where there’s a picture-perfect Victorian ice skating pond with crackling wood fires, outdoor music, hot chocolate and horse-drawn sleighs. Enjoy dozens of family attractions in warm weather too. Story Land, the Conway Scenic Railway, mini golf, mountain zip-lines, Attitash Mt. water slide, biking, hiking or swimming at Echo Lake are all just a few minutes away. The North Conway Country Club’s spectacular 18 hole public golf course and terrific outlet shopping at nearby Settler’s Green are both just a few minutes away. Watch (or join!) rock climbers scaling Cathedral Ledge, enjoy canoeing or kayaking on the Saco River, or hike the trail at Diana’s Baths for a midday picnic at the waterfall. When the sun goes down theater buffs can enjoy quality productions right downtown at the Eastern Slopes Playhouse, and there are 11 restaurants of all kinds within a few minutes drive. We just got back from a great week in NH. The house was perfect. Great spot, everything we needed. I think the dogs had the best week of their lives so far. Just want to tell you that we love how well kept the house is and how clean everyhthing was. Perfect amount of stuff there too. Not cluttered. I was a little worried it was our first time away with our 1 year old but everyhthing was great. Thanks!
This has been our family vacation house since the 1960's, lovingly maintained and enjoyed by three generations. We are three sisters (two in MA one in NYC) jointly owning and operating the property as an all-season rental, using it ourselves with our families whenever we can. We'll be sharing great memories, providing family fun year-round and looking forward to many adventures still to come.
This is the best spot in the North Conway/Carroll County area with easy access to all the action for which it is known but without any sense of traffic or crowds. Family members can go separate ways and meet up at the chalet later, or just stay home and enjoy great natural beauty right outside the door walking in the woods and along the brook. The chalet is uniquely located at the end of a dead-end unpaved road. You can enjoy your pine-scented mornings on a sun-dappled deck listening only to the trees and the babbling brook, and yet at night there are fabulous restaurants, bars, movies and plenty of music and theatre events to entertain you. Serious thrill-seekers will be challenged with the climbing, riding, skiing, mountain-biking and kayaking in the area, but leaf-peepers, readers, golfers, shoppers and birders are equally happy in the same town. And it's only 2 1/2 hours from Boston by car, so weekends are an easy escape.
The living room, dining room and kitchen are upstairs on an open floor plan with a wood beamed cathedral ceiling high overhead and sliding glass windows all around. There is a wood-burning fireplace in the living room with built-in couches and retro Danish Modern chairs to settle in and enjoy the fire, TV , DVD or wireless internet. A king bedroom and full bath are also upstairs and a spiral staircase leads down to the family room, two additional bedrooms (one king, one with bunk beds and a twin) and another full bath. There is lots of room for everyone, storage is ample, and the house is well-equipped for entertaining.
