Wintergreen House Rental Photos and Description
House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)
Welcome to our home, Double Trouble! They say a name is everything. A morning of hiking or tennis? An afternoon of swimming or mountain biking? Or impress your friends and ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon at Stony Creek in the spring! And of course the origin of the name, our boy / girl twins and two lovable dogs.
Our house is located inside the Wintergreen Resort up near the top of the mountain. It is a beautiful Lindal cedar home with floor to ceiling windows in the family room, extensive woodwork and stone fireplace. Easy entrance with only 3 wide, flat steps to and from our front porch and our driveway which differentiates us from so many other mountain homes. Imagine arriving for a weekend after dark in the snow with luggage, sleeping children and a dog and having 20 or so steps to hike to enter the house? Not our place. We graded our driveway specifically to avoid this disastrous beginning to a Wintergreen weekend. Just a hop, skip and jump from the gorgeous waterfall hiking trail and down the road from the Appalachian Trail access. We are a dog family with a golden retriever and a black lab so we understand how important it is to vacation with your pets! We even have a large dog crate, dog bed and Invisible Fence surrounding the house to make it the perfect vacation for all family members. In addition, our huge mudroom (complete with counter space, large sink, lockers, a huge bench and full size washer & dryer) is the answer to managing all your ski and golf equipment and other 'stuff' that traveling families have to cart around.
Come see why we fell in love with Wintergreen! Nature, wildlife, 30 miles of hiking trails, great views, 45-holes of golf, extensive skiing, boarding and tubing runs, a great kids program, a lake, horseback riding and much, much more. Our family has participated in all activities and sports that Wintergreen has to offer and I promise you won't be disappointed. And at the end of a fun-filled day, you can relax on the deck while you listen to the birds and the sound of the babbling brook behind our house. For the beer drinker in the family, we even offer a refrigerator.
Dogs are welcome all around the resort as long as they are on a leash. Although, if your pooch is well trained he can romp off-leash on the many hiking trails. We provide extra doggie-towels to help clean them up after a long day of hiking. Unfortunately, no cats allowed due to allergies.
And best of all, we offer two Guest of Member passes which allows up to four people per pass access to ski, golf, kids programs, pools and the lake. Separate fees apply.
As for sleeping accommodations, the master bedroom is upstairs and has a queen bed. Adjacent to the master bedroom is full bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and a small loft with a table & four chairs - perfect for game time or plugging in your lap top computer. We have free WiFi.
Bedroom 2 and 3 are on the main level and each feature a double bed. One twin blow-up mattress available as well. These two bedrooms share a full size hallway bathroom. The basement has a living area with a sofa and TV, a full bathroom and bedroom with a queen bed.

Why Melissa Greenblatt chose Wintergreen
My husband and I first went to Wintergreen for a romantic golf weekend just after we got engaged! We returned several times to ski and play golf. We always wanted a vacation home in the mountains! In 2003, that dream became a reality. Wintergreen is the perfect mix of outdoor activities, fine dining, kid friendly programs and breathtaking views.
What makes this house unique
Vacationing in the mountains offer challenges that one might not consider when leaving home. The biggest one is the amount of steps that you have to climb once you arrive. Not a concern at our place as we had the entrance specially graded to eliminate any concerns. Other houses on this program have equally beautiful homes with spectacular views but with those views comes a downside that you wont find advertised on their sites. Steep steps, sometimes as many as dozens just to reach the front door. We have none. It's a straight shot right to our front door so loading in the luggage, food, skis, golf clubs and most importantly sleeping children is a breeze.
