Having shared my Irish Beach vacation home on the Mendocino coast for more than twenty years with return guests, including many 2nd generations, Carneros seemed the perfect addition. The convenience of its location to San Francisco, Napa and Sonoma, along with the variety of activities available to all ages, prompted me to start looking in the Carneros region about 8 years ago. The moment I finally walked into this house I knew I'd found my Casacalenda!
Three days in the wine country followed by 3 days overlooking the ocean in beautiful Mendocino County make the perfect California vacation! Please visit VRBO property #275652 to view Donna's Irish Beach vacation rental.
We loved our time here and couldn’t have been happier with our choice (4 adults). The house is convenient to both Sonoma and Napa, located in a very peaceful, quiet rural location. The house is well equipped, nicely appointed, clean, and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The outdoor space is beautiful and relaxing. The welcome bottle of wine was a VERY nice touch! Donna was easy to work with and very efficient. We have already recommended it to friends and will definitely return ourselves.
The other reviews are all accurate...this is a charming home with a great location in the Sonoma wine country. And Donna the owner was wonderful to work with. We traveled with another couple and all agreed that we would eagerly stay here again if we return to Sonoma.
My husband, two grown children and I just returned from an amazing week in Sonoma. The house was in an excellent rural location, but only minutes from Sonoma Plaza and many vineyards. The house is completely updated with a beautiful kitchen and bathrooms. Both of the bedrooms have outside access to either the lovely back yard or a small private deck. The yard was an oasis to return to after a day of sightseeing and wine tastings. We loved the hot tub which was very clean and worked well. Spa towels and plastic wineglasses were provided. Donna has thought of everything to make your stay so pleasant, including a complementary bottle of local wine. She even invited us to use the abundant tomatoes, eggplants and herbs from her garden. Her communication with us was exceptional, including a welcome email with some suggestions for local activities upon our arrival. I would highly recommend this property for anyone visiting the area.
We stayed here for a week on a recent trip to the area. We could not have been more happy with our choice - the house is close to Sonoma, but in a very peaceful, rural setting with sheep right across the street. The house is adorable - much cozier in the kitchen/living/dining area than I expected from the pictures. The outdoor space is beautiful and relaxing. We didn't try the hot tub, but did enjoy the bicycles that are provided. The house was very clean and Donna was easy to work with - I would definitely return if visiting Sonoma again in the future. One note of caution - the bed in the master bedroom is very firm...while the bed in the guest room is much softer. The MBR bed was a bit too firm for me to sleep in comfortably - but some might like it!
We stayed here with another couple (4 adults). We were in town for the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon. The location worked out great as the race course literally passed by the house! The home was clean, well equipped, and nicely appointed with everything we needed. It is close to Sonoma Square but not really within walking distance, although Donna provides bicycles which would work great! Donna was a pleasure to work with and we appreciated the welcome bottle of wine! We would definitely return again!
We have visited the wine country many times prior but this has been the best place to stay. Quiet yet close to everything, and very well appointed, the owner has thought of everything here to make us relaxed and comfortable. We will be back!
