We moved to Salida to be near our grandchildren and to enjoy the outdoors. We are lovers of Argentine tango, so we built a dance studio here, and teach classes to build a tango dance community. Dvora is a well known artist. She paints in our new studio attached to the dance hall. You will see her work on the walls of your vacation home.

Steve is a retired ski instructor. He enjoys Monarch Mountain Ski resort which is an easy 25 minutes away. Our kids love having a private ski instructor.

We saw the potential in this 100 year old brick row house by the river. Renovating is like a three dimensional art project. It has been fun restoring the old wood moldings, keeping the charm, making it comfortable and beautiful.

We love it here so much and want to share it with our friends, family, visiting tango dancers, and you.

Salida has developed the trail system that begins 2 minutes from our door. You can wake early to hike or jump on your bike and head up 'S' Mountain'. The view of the valley is spectacular. Afterwords, walk to brunch by the river or sip coffee at one of our great coffee shops.

We have supplied our guest house with several bottles of wine from our wonderful local winery, Vino Salida, for purchase. Check out their daily wine tasting.

There are several hot springs near Salida, and a hot springs pool in town They are perfect for after skiing or hiking. Mount Princeton Hot Springs and Salida Hot Springs Pool are great for kids as well as adults.

Riverside Park, which is just around the corner, has a playground, a climbing wall, amphitheater, and many summer events: live music, carnival, dancing, etc.

You will want to visit Culture Clash, a wonderful art gallery which features jewelry and art. Our daughter, Nicole has her jewelry studio there. Her work, as well as other local artists is worth checking out.

What is special about our guest house and Salida??? Come and find out.

Cozy weekend get away

We had such a great stay over valentines weekend. We skied monarch and enjoyed the artsy town of salida. This place was so cute and cozy. Exactly what we were looking for.
After a day of skiing we would sit by the cozy fireplace and relax and read. The location is so perfect as you can walk to anywhere downtown. Dvora was so nice, easy to work with and had great recommendations. We would absolutely stay again!

A cozy business retreat

This was the perfect place for my business partner and I to have a business retreat. We holed up in the house for three days and worked like crazy to develop a new program. The internet connection was very stable and reliable. We worked at the desk as well as at the kitchen table.
The house had everything we needed to do our own cooking, everything was spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated.
The only complaint was that the shower is inside a clawfoot tub, so it just needs some care in getting in and out.
The sofa bed is a sofa bed...not the most comfy bed in the world, but sleepable.

Charm, Quality, and Proximity

This place was EXCELLENT for my group! The 3 of us stayed here to enjoy the slopes at Monarch Ski Resort. This house was a perfect base camp! It was 30 minutes from door to chair lift. It's a short walk to EVERYTHING in town (stores, coffee shops, bars, etc.). And, it's a short drive to some really nice hot springs!

The house was incredibly well-kept and it's clear that Dvora truly takes pride in the property. It was also very nice to actually meet her. She was able to make some recommendations of places to eat and shop while in town, and really welcomed us to her home.

Although we took our trip in the winter, I'd recommend this house year-round due to its proximity to the downtown area as well as all the incredible recreation in the area.
