House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Just 2 miles to 2nd Beach and five minutes driving to downtown Newport. You will zip right down to the beach using the back road of Paradise Ave and never have to wait in a long line of traffic. Quiet country roads for you to enjoy biking or running. Our long cul de sac street is perfect for children to bike or rollerblade on.

House:

Master bedroom contains a Queen Bed and two dressers. Ceiling fan.

2nd bedroom has a double bed and ceiling fan.

3rd bedroom two twin beds and ceiling fan.

Upstairs bathroom contains tub with shower, toilet and sink

Downstairs bathroom has toilet and sink with a stall shower.

Large finished basement with sofa and a futon, small TV, game console and built in bar.

Living room has large flat screen TV

Kitchen has everything you need to cook and large table with extra sleeves to extend for large gatherings.

Location:

Downtown Newport is just five miles away. Surfer's end of 2nd beach is just 2 miles away. Easy access to 3rd beach using 3rd Beach Rd. We are a five minute walk to Sweet Berry Farm and a half mile from our neighbor who sells fresh eggs daily. Close by is the local grass fed beef farm. If you love to fish 3rd beach has a boat ramp and great off the shore fishing at the point. Enjoy hiking the nature reserve at the end of 2nd Beach. Birdwatching at the Norman Bird Sanctuary. Enjoy nearby public golf course. The Newport Athletic club and YMCA are close by. You and your kids will be comfortable in this family home.

About Jennifer Lax

We are a family of four currently living in California. So why Rhode Island? I spent my summers in Middletown/Newport as a child and for the last 16 years my family has been vacationing there. We can't think of a more beautiful place to be in the summertime. Our children are 10 and 14 and they love the large open back yard and street for playing. Our kid's love the beach, surfing and all the other water activities that Rhode Island offers. We intend to use the house for a few weeks every summer and hopefully spend all our summers here when we retire.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay with my friends in this home which we rented for a wedding. It turns out the wedding weekend took place during hurricane Irene and the house stood up well to the test. Jennifer the owner sent an email to check in on us and make sure everything was OK and then went out of her way to make sure I was returned my Kindle which I forgot at the end of the trip. I cannot say enough about her hospitality. The house itself was perfect for our situation. We had three couples and each had their own room and the basement downstairs was a great place to relax. The yard in the back is enormous and the whole house is well maintained and clean. It would be great for kids and the beach is very close by as well. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and a friendly neighbor gave us some good hurricane tips. I recommend this house highly.
