Good, clean, comfortable place to stay

The unit was fairly accurately described, and very generously sized, especially the kitchen and master bedroom, and the space worked very well for us. We particularly enjoyed the large master bathroom with shower, separate soaking tub and 2 sinks. We also thought the pools and the exercise room were great. Not as much fun was running out of hot water in the shower (after running the dishwasher--my mistake I guess), cleaning up the coffee maker that overflowed all over the counter 2 out of the 3 times I used it, using the kind of synthetic scrub-sponge to clean the counters that doesn't absorb liquid, and having no dish soap (not discovered until after we'd been to the grocery store) so the sponge remained greasy after washing the first cooking pot. The kitchen equipment worked nicely but was rather minimal, with no salad bowl, for example, no drain board or rack, only 2 dish towels, which didn't dry well because they were new and hadn't been washed, no canisters, and no salt or pepper in the shakers. We left salt and pepper for the next user, but it would have been nice if there had been basic kitchen things like dish soap, salt, pepper, maybe even flour, coffee filters for that pot (don't know why it overflowed--I didn't fill it past the top line!) and a sponge and towels that did what they were there for.
The owners were responsive to requests for information, though the information packet sent by mail never did arrive and had to be re-sent by email, which would have been fine as a first way of sending it for me. I don't know if the lack of what I consider basic supplies in the kitchen (based on other condo rentals we've experienced and also the way I equip my own vacation house as a rental) is the responsibility of the owners or the management (does the cleaning crew take away things you might leave to be kind to the next renters in some misguided effort to meet a standard, or does someone expect people to buy their own everything, even when you will use just a small fraction of what is contained in the smallest container, like coffee filters), but I hope that aspect can be improved for future renters. If those problems could be solved, I would not hesitate to rate it Excellent and return another time or recommend it to relatives. If they can't or won't provide better supplies, then this fact should be mentioned in the description. There was a partial roll of paper towels, but that was the only consumable item that was supplied in the kitchen.

Owner's Response: Ellen - thanks for your comments. Although the management company has a standard "package" that they stock for our renters, we completely agree that adding a few items as you've suggested would make things much easier. We have now purchased a new coffee maker and added all the other items that you've suggested. Thanks again for your thoughts - we're really glad you enjoyed your stay.
