About Chris or Brad Garner
We are Brad and Chris Garner, owners of the Badger House. Though we now live a short distance outside of Winthrop, we lived in the Badger House when we first moved here. It's name comes from the last name of its previous 40-year inhabitants, the Badgers, who were pillars of society in the town. Warren Badger was mayor of Winthrop, his wife, Lois, worked at Farmers State Bank in Winthrop for over 50 years, and they raised 3 daughters in the house.
We are slowly remodeling the house, taking care to maintain its early 20th century small-town charm.
Chris or Brad Garner purchased this house in 2002
Why Chris or Brad Garner chose Winthrop
We chose this area for its quality of life, the awesome hiking, mountain biking and cross-country skiing. We love the mountains and fresh air and enjoy being in a remote but sophisticated community.
What makes this house unique
The house is one block from the center of Winthrop, a small western-theme town. Within walking distance are restaurants, gift shops, a general store, galleries, antique and consignment shops, a fascinating mining museum, and suspension bridges from town over the Methow and Chewuch rivers to a park and ski trail head. Though it's so close to downtown, it's very quiet at the house.
