TIMELESS SUMMER HOUSE - 2 TICKETS TO MONHEGAN ISLAND OR PUFFIN WATCH INCLUDED

Port Clyde House Rental Photos and Description

4 bedrooms, 2 bathroom. Sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms

For people who love the Midcoast, Port Clyde is one of those places that can’t be missed, can’t be replicated and can’t be forgotten. Port Clyde is a place where days slow down and memories of a simpler time resurface. It’s a place where kids can still run to the ice cream shop or fish off the public landing. You can walk to dinner, eat lobster on a deck on the water and walk home under a sky that still allows stars to shine. Rose Cottage sits in the middle of all this; across the street is the ice cream shop, down the hill is the general store, several shops and a fabulous restaurant (one of 3 in town). You can walk or bike everywhere and feel as if you are a part of it all. It’s a lovely house – a traditional Maine summer house with an enclosed front porch overlooking the village and the waterfront. Of course, the windows open (with screens) to create a screen porch atmosphere. Find rocking Adirondack chairs and a table and chairs for morning coffee or dinner as the sun sets.

Further details:: Inside, find 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, a living room, kitchen and dining room. The living room has comfortable furniture along with good reading lights, a television and cable. A high-speed Internet connection is also available.

The kitchen is fully equipped (lots of storage and prep room thanks to the adorable butler’s pantry) with all modern appliances, cookware, dishes, etc. The kitchen also has a breakfast table that can seat 4-6.. The dining room seats 6 and overlooks the lawn and waterfront – these two rooms are close enough to comfortably seat a larger party without feeling disconnected.

For those who want a change of pace, the larger cities of Rockland and Camden are just 25-30 minutes away.

Seven family members spent a week in this wonderful house. The house is located in a great place, in the heart of Port Clyde. This makes it easy to get around the town (especially for ice cream and the general store). The location of the house is in the middle of great places to visit. On our stay we visited Acadia, Bar Harbor, Boothbay,Camden, Monhegan Island, Marshall Point and Owl's Head (lighthouse and museum). The house has a wonderful porch that the kids loved to play in, and the adults loved to drink their coffee and watch the boats. The owner was wonderful to work with from start to finish! Truly a great experience!!!

Notes:
Anyone renting for a week will receive their choice of 2 roundtrips to Monhegan, Puffin/ Nature, Sunset/ Puffin or Lighthouse Cruises. Rose Cottage is owned by the Barstow Family who, for generations, have run the small ferry boat to and from Monhegan Island, carrying the island’s mail, its deliveries, its visitors and its year round residents to and from the island. The living room has comfortable furniture along with good reading lights, a television and basic cable. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern appliances, cookware, dishes, etc. The kitchen also has plenty of room for the breakfast table. The dining room seats 8 comfortably and overlooks the lawn and waterfront – these two rooms are close enough to comfortably seat a larger party without feeling disconnected. The house has hardwood floors and all the original woodwork. You will get salty breezes, a wonderful front lawn to sit and watch the boats come in and out and a feeling that will last you the rest of the year
