For people who love the Midcoast, Port Clyde is one of those places that can’t be missed, can’t be replicated and can’t be forgotten. Port Clyde is a place where days slow down and memories of a simpler time resurface. It’s a place where kids can still run to the ice cream shop or fish off the public landing. You can walk to dinner, eat lobster on a deck on the water and walk home under a sky that still allows stars to shine. Rose Cottage sits in the middle of all this; across the street is the ice cream shop, down the hill is the general store, several shops and a fabulous restaurant (one of 3 in town). You can walk or bike everywhere and feel as if you are a part of it all. It’s a lovely house – a traditional Maine summer house with an enclosed front porch overlooking the village and the waterfront. Of course, the windows open (with screens) to create a screen porch atmosphere. Find rocking Adirondack chairs and a table and chairs for morning coffee or dinner as the sun sets.
