IT'S A BOAT!
If you have ever been in a hotel and overlooked a marina you probably have said to yourself; 'I wonder what it would be like to live on a boat'. Now's your chance!
Imagine sitting on the sundeck in the evening and watching a beautiful Floida sunset as you dine on a great home made meal or a ready made convenience meal you picked up at Fresh Market; a short walk away. After dinner walk along the bay and into Coconut Grove. There is always something going on in the Grove. The dining there ranges from Johnny Rocket's to Jaguar.
We love the out of doors. Cloud Nine boasts enough room for 12 to comfortably sit outside on the sundeck and upper helm.
We purchased Cloud Nine to spend a year of our lives on her so we wanted her to be comfortable. That she is. She has a spacious main salon with all the amenities you would expect to find at home. She has a king-size bed in the master stateroom with a shower and small tub. The other sleeping area is called a Vee berth. It sleeps two. It is located in the bow of the boat and has it's own head also. One more person could sleep in the main salon on the settee. We also had the 3rd stateroom converted into an office.
Cloud Nine is a 1983 Island Gypsy sundeck trawler. A classic design.
During your stay you may wish to charter 'your yacht' and take a cruise up the Miami River fo lunch at one of the many restaurants that are available. You may also want to watch the sunset from Stiltsville in Biscayne Bay. All of this can be yours for as long as you want!
If you are thinking of ever buying a trawler lessons are available from several licensed captains.

Pam, my wife, and I presently live in Barrington IL. Before I met Pam 25 years ago I knew nothing about sailing or boating. With Pams help and urging we purchased a 33 foot sailboat and later we purchased Cloud Nine to do The Great Loop.
We purchased Cloud Nine in 2005 to do The Great Loop; a circumnavigation of the eastern part of the US by boat. We left Chicago and got as far as Chesepeake Bay and then returned to Coconut Grove Florida where the boat has been docked for the past 2 years. We chose Coconut Grove for its diversity and it's vacation-like feel.
Living on a boat is unique unto itself. It definately is not like living in a home. In the morning you may feel a gentle rocking as a fishing boat leaves for the early catch. If you love gardening you can still do it on the boat but forget about mowing the grass. Do you want a different location for a few days? Start the engines an go. Anchor out overnight and watch the sun go down and the moon come up. You'd better be a friendly person 'cause that's what boaters are. That's why we like the boating lifestyle.
Our dinghy can be used for an additional $150 per week to "tool" around the marina.
