Our stay in this lovely cottage exceeded our expectations to such an extent that we struggled to leave. The simple yet homey cottage was perfectly equipped for our group of 8. The bonfire table and porch overlooking the lake was a staple in our long weekend experience, along with the massive trampoline that was the most pleasant surprise! We were amazed that we seemed to share the lake with no one. We certainly appreciated how peaceful and quiet it was. The water was clear right through to the bottom, and we were able to witness various forms of wildlife like beavers and deer.
There were plenty of activities to choose from. There are kayaks available, and if you bring mountain bikes, there are some great trails nearby. Next door there are horses that we enjoyed petting and feeding carrots to. And the road leading to the cottage was quiet enough that a morning run was as peaceful as the cottage itself.
The lake is perfect for water sports, and we literally only saw one other boat on the lake the entire long weekend. The dock was great, and as we brought our own boat, we were able to quickly come back in for a hot sausage from the BBQ, the dock also meant we had a great secure place to tie it up for the evening.
The house itself was warm and had so much character, decorated with lovely photos on the walls of the family that is fortunate enough to enjoy this pretty cottage. The bedrooms were comfortable, the living area was bright and airy with floor to very high ceiling windows overlooking the lake…..and it was already stocked with board games and puzzles for rainy day fun.
Everything we needed for cooking and serving up food was already there. We had brought up so much stuff thinking that there wouldn’t be much to work with given our past renting experiences….but this place had it all already.
The transaction with the owner to exchange key and rental fee was easy and convenient.
We would certainly recommend this cottage to everyone we know. Young people or family cottage-goers….this place is perfectly suited for anyone. We are very happy to have found it and hope to return many more times in the future!
