When a rental is for a month the greatest importance is the bed. This bed was full of lumps, bumps, and dips! Clue # 1 should have been no reviews on this property and it has been a VRBO for 1 year. For over two weeks we tried everything under the sun to improve the bed situation except buying a new mattress and it was miserable!!!!!!!!! Vacation it was not!!!! I won't even go into the sprinklers turning on at 4:00am and sounding like a little jack hammer was in the living room, or the toilet seats being old and smelling like urine. The only good night sleep we had was while we traveled out of town and stayed in a hotel. The best thing we did was leave early! We had a dog with us and there is no gated yard, no dishwasher, no vent in the kitchen so food smells last, couch in the TV room is VERY uncomfortable, Now there are some pros to this property: Maya, the Property Manager is A+++++, The location is wonderful, the house is cute, the BBQ is great, full use of garage is a plus, nice updated bathrooms.
Owner's Response: I the owner have rhumetoid arthritis so I know the importance of a good bed. The mattress was purchased two years ago at approx. cost $1100. I am surprized at the complaint as the mattress is on the firm side by my choice.
The sprinklers need to be on during the night & early morn hours so tenants can enjoy the beautiful yard & landscape which a gardner maintains.
The yard is not fenced I usually do not rent to anyone with pets, but made an exception for this tenant as she said her pet was always with her or kenneled.
The tenant is correct that the bathrooms are nice & updated, so the complaint that the tolit seat smelled of urine was upsetting to me & I had Maya replace with new ones immediatley.
I have used VRBO's around Calif & have not found none as nice as my lovley home in the village.
This is my first complaint & I regret anyone that is unhappy, but I am a very proud owner.
During this stay the property was under previous owner or management.
