'LOS CUERVOS PERCA CASITA' 360 DEGREE VIEWS, ARTISAN'S ADOBE

Taos House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-4)

Set in a dramatic location with unobstructed 360 degree views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, the mesa, Arroyo Hondo Valley, and southward to Taos, Los Cuervos Perca 'The Raven's Perch' Casita is the ideal location for your stay in Taos. Just 13 minutes north of Taos, this spacious 1200 sq foot adobe home on 3 acres above Arroyo Hondo was designed with guests in mind. Hand-hewn vigas span the 10 foot high ceilings and walls are thickly plastered to a diamond finish throughout the casita to provide that Northern New Mexico charm. The casita is complete with original art; etchings, watercolors, woodcarving and weavings unique to Los Cuervos Perca.

The living room is furnished with comfortable leather upholstered furniture that provides uncompromising views of the mountains, mesa and gorge areas. A woodstove, with firewood provided, takes the chill off evenings and adds to the ambiance.

A HDTV, blue-ray DVD player and a video library with such 'must see's' as Milagro Beanfield Wars is provided for your viewing pleasure. If you want to get 'wired', connect to our WiFi and bring your music to hook in to the stereo for your listening pleasure.

Bedrooms are uniquely appointed with queen sized pillow top beds and a down comforter to make for a quiet, restful, unparalleled sleep experience. Each bedroom has full sized closets and night stands with lights allowing you to cozy up to that book.

Custom tiling in the full kitchen and bathrooms add to the southwest ambience of the casita. Each bathroom has custom tiled showers and copper sinks are set in tiled countertops with custom tin crafted mirrors.

Enjoy the outdoors with a hike to the nearby gorge area and take photos of petroglyphs on the rock ledges. Drive to John Dunn bridge and flyfish in the Rio Hondo or fish and swim in the Rio Grande. Enjoy your evening gazing at the stars from the patio and listening to the coyotes.

In the mornings you may see hot air balloons rising to the west and drifting down the gorge as you have your cuppa while listening to the raucous play of soaring ravens.

Our casita has all the amenities and conveniences you need to fully enjoy your Taos vacation. Visit the museums and galleries, fish, raft, learn to weave or just relax, come live the Taos life and see why New Mexico is the 'Land of Enchantment'.

We discovered our love for the Taos area several years ago and we have coupled our art, printing, painting and weaving to our casita. We have travelled the world and worked in various places including Antarctica but the southwest is a magical place and a place we call home. We work on our artistic endeavors as much as possible and soak up the joys of life.

The Owner purchased this house in 2010

We love the sounds of thunder cracking in the summer, ravens calling to one another and the sound of the breezes flowing thru the pinon. Combine this with the privacy, and spectacular views, our casita is a treasure.

The views are incredible and everchanging. The sunsets are stunning and the air is clear and crisp. Thunderstorms rumble by in the summer and add to the experience of the place. Easy hikes to the gorge and privacy yet just a few minutes to Taos. It can't be beat.

A COZY CASITA WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!

  • 5 of 5
Our family of four stayed here for a Spring Break ski trip and loved it! The casita itself is so comfortable and cozy with a well-equipped kitchen and super comfortable bedrooms. Wood for the fireplace is fully stocked and each morning, my husband started a fire, brewed the coffee and we watched the sun come over the mountains. Jim provided us with some great recommendations for nearby restaurants and a few nights, we stayed in for dinner after tiring ourselves out on the slopes. Our kids have already asked if we can come back to this exact house next Spring Break and I am hoping we can work that out. We can't encourage you enough to consider renting from Jim and Diane.

GREAT VACATION CASITA

  • 5 of 5
The description and photos of this property are accurate. It is well maintained, an easy drive from Taos and very clean. Perfect for 2 couples traveling together. The furniture is comfortable and the beds provide a restful nights sleep. Owner is great to work with. The casita is located at the top of a hill, so you will see beautiful sunrise and sunset. Very peaceful and quiet with lots of stars at night. The kitchen has all you need for meal preparation, just stop in Taos for groceries, We also buy fresh veggies and breads at the Farmers Market on Saturday morning. Pizza Outback for great pizza and salad, Taos Diner for breakfast and Eske's for Wanda's famous Green Chile Stew.

A VERY CHARMING, PEACEFUL AND REJUNVENATING CASA

  • 5 of 5
This beautiful casa was all we'd hoped for. Just enough away from town to have peace and quiet and exceptional star viewing from the hot tub. A fun and attractive kitchen inspired tasty chipotle cheddar biscuits and lovely ambience throughout to inspire art and relaxation. Being perched on top of a hill made the vistas wonderful and privacy from the neighbors below. We had nice day trips from here. It was clean, full of dishes/glasses and good internet reception. I'd move in if the owner would let me!

TOP NOTCH VIEWS

  • 5 of 5
My family stayed at the house for 6 nights and found everything to be as stated and much more. The kitchen was well equipped (even though we only cooked popcorn!) and was extremely clean. The beds were super comfy as well. My daughter loved the wood buring fireplace and thank you for having technology so we could stay connected. We are planning our second trip for Christmas and would recommend this casita to anyone. Thank you for a great stay. Scott and Lesley - Houston, TX

ARKANSAS TRAVELERS

  • 5 of 5
We enjoyed five days and nights at this lovely casita--the views in every direction were amazing; the home was attractive--and very comfortable. Each day we would venture out to different locations. Day trips included Santa Fe, The Enchanted Circle and the places along that route, the Taos Pueblos and of course, Taos.

The kitchen is very well equipped--except there isn't a blender! But Jim just told us to have our margaritas on the rocks rather than frozen!!! (Really... this kitchen is awesome!) All amenities are as listed--or better. Coming from Arkansas, we did not know how we would fare without airconditioning, but the casita was comfortable both day and night, and we were there during a very hot phase of July.

We are still talking about what wonderful time we had and have hopes to return.

Bring binoculars--you will be viewing hot air balloons rising early in the morning over the Rio Grande Gorge. Don't buy your turquiose jewelry until you visit real silversmiths--and then you will learn what to look for in both the stones and the workmanship. Visit a different place every evening for nachos and margaritas--our favorites were at OBL (Old Blinking Light).
