Trancoso is a charming little Historical town that is situated atop a series of bluffs.The Quadrado is the preserved and Federally protected heart of Trancoso surrounded by colorful little houses with the Historical church, Igreja Sao Joao, at the end with a magnificent view of the ocean behind it.
The Quadrado is actually more like a large grassy rectangle with many trees and flowers.No vehicles are allowed in the Quadrado making for a very peaceful, magical setting.
Some of the little Nativo houses are now restaurants, bars, boutiques and arts and craft shops.There are many places where you can just sit beneath the trees and watch the activity in the Quadrado while you enjoy a meal or a cold drink.You can easily find live music in one of the bars or see a group playing Capoeira or soccer.
There are many miles of beautiful beaches and lush surroundings.Climate is good year round.
Nearby beaches such as Espelho, Caraiva or Arraial accessible by car, dune buggy,horseback or bus.
