Red Lodge House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Our home is a charming Victorian located in a small ski and resort town famous for our Red Lodge Ales (the micro brewery is a short walk from my house) and its location abutting Yellowstone National Park. The home has been renovated and nicely decorated with everything that any visitor would need, including the most comfortable pillow top beds with comforters you'll ever sleep on. The home is a short three minute walk to the charming downtown of Red Lodge where you'll find gourmet shops, galleries, restaurants, a wine bar, a quaint, old fashioned movie theatre, coffee shops, a hometown bakery, and even a bowling alley. There is a lovely yard for relaxing in on the beautiful summer days we get. Red Lodge is a very friendly town and there are a variety of fun events to attend throughout the year.

You can hike, downhill and nordic ski, snowshoe, bike, ice skate (there is a hockey rink available in winter), kayak or canoe, fly fish or just drop a line in a river, and do just about anything outdoors you could imagine. The town is surrounded by amazing and expansive wilderness areas, which have numerous mapped hiking trails available. There is a horse-drawn wagon which gives free rides in the town on most evenings, and ski and snowshoe rentals are readily available for winter skiing and snowshoeing.

Red Lodge is an amazing and fun community and a perfect place for a memorable vacation. For more information about Red Lodge, you may want to view the town's website.

Red Lodge is a quaint, quiet yet vibrant historic town located at the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It is an easy country drive, one hour, to a major airport (Billings) and major shopping. Our home is located on a quiet, tree-lined street, a very short and lovely stroll to the historic downtown. Restored victorian brick buildings form main street of the town, which is fiiled with quaint stores, art galleries, restaurants and small cafes, and defined by the calm pace of life in this mountain town. The town of Red Lodge is listed in Outside Magazine as one of the 30 Best Places to Live and Play, and National Geographic Adventure named it to its 'Top Adventure Towns' List.

We have wonderful friendly neighbors to help you with any local information that you seek. Red Lodge is an idyllic setting, surrounded by mountains with unlimited outdoor recreational opportunities. It is also an easy one hour drive to the cowboy town of Cody, Wyoming, the center of the historic 'Wild West', which is also the east entrance to Yellowstone.

If you want peace and quiet and/or love endless outdoor fun and breathtaking mountains in your backyard without having to drive to everything, then this is the place for you. Red Lodge has it all, including fine dining and art galleries. It is a very quaint town, a very comfortable and fun place to stay. The outdoor recreational opportunities are unmatched.

There is world class fishing, hunting in season, skiing and snowshoeing in season, wonderful wildness hiking, spectacular views and scenes for photography, great roads for cycling, and an incredible night sky with billions of stars visible. Red Lodge is close to the southeast entrance to Yellowstone park, one of the world's most beautiful and scenic wilderness areas in the world. Yellowstone is teeming with wildlife. There you can see animals such as Buffalo, Bear, Elk, Deer, Wolves, Moose, all in their natural habitat.

Billings, the largest town in Montana, is an easy and beautiful one hour drive away where you may have all your bigger city needs met, including larger shopping, theatre and cultural events, more restaurants, and museums and galleries.

Nearby Cody, Wyoming is the center of the 'Wild West' and a cowboy town where you can see things like a daily gunfight in the streets of town, Buffalo Bill's original Irma Hotel, and the Buffalo Bill Historical Museum, an award winning collection of five incredible museums. Cody is home to the world famous Cody Rodeos, including the Cody Night Rodeo, which runs every evening during the summer. Red Lodge, Cody and the surrounding area all have many other Western experiences available.

Our home in Red Lodge makes a great base for exploring all this beautiful area has to offer.

About Bruce and Bev Wasserman

We are Bruce- a professional, artist and musician, and Bev- a professional and musician. We are non-smokers and like living a healthy lifestyle in the Rocky Mountains. We are neat, detailed and enjoy meeting new people and learning new things.

In addition to our careers, the music we perform and the art Bruce creates in his pottery studio, Bruce is a writer. He has published several books of poetry and is currently working on selling his second novel. His most recently published book is AN UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY (Horace Simerman Literary Press, 2011).

We love the outdoors and enjoy running, cycling, hiking, snowshoeing and nordic skiing. We like to travel and love to visit cities as well as more obscure, out of the way places. We both find experiencing different cultures fascinating.

Bruce and Bev Wasserman purchased this house in 2005

Why Bruce and Bev Wasserman chose Red Lodge

We love Red Lodge! It feels very much like home. If there were a yellow brick road leading to it, Red Lodge would be Oz! (You have to see movie 'The Wizard of Oz' to understand this...).

The community is filled with interesting and interested people. It has a very strong sense of community and it is situated in one of the most exquisite areas of natural beauty you could ever imagine.

Red Lodge has fine dining and the outdoor recreational opportunities are almost unlimited. It is a great place to own a home!

Our home is located in one of the best neighborhoods in town. It is a very peaceful and a refreshing place to stay.

What makes this house unique

We both love the sense of total relaxation we get when we are in Red Lodge at our home. Our house is very peaceful, yet we can walk to dinner in a few minutes, cross the street and go bowling or even strap on snowshoes and be hiking in the wilderness hiking in 5 minutes!

We love the quaint, small town feeling of Red Lodge. It is a wonderful place to see art, as there are a number of fine galleries in town, and one can easily spend a delightful day visiting the galleries and even meeting some of the local artists.

When we are at our house in Red Lodge, we feel like we have left the outside world, with all of its hustle and bustle, far away, and stepped into a soothing, idyllic place. It is extremely refreshing and we look forward to our trips to our home as often as possible.

The town of Red Lodge has been listed in Outside Magazine as one of the 30 Best Places to Live and Play, and National Geographic Adventure named it to its 'Top Adventure Towns' List.

This is a very well stocked home with an extra supply of big fluffy towels. Enjoyed being able to have a house for a family get together. The dining table was a great place to visit as well as the outside area in the back. Enjoyed our stay !

Wedding In Red Lodge

  • 5 of 5
We attended a wedding over the weekend and rented this wonderful home for easy access to the wedding site, events in town, and a nice way to save a little money by cooking breakfast and having snacks available. We had grandparents coming in to town, friends, and we came in after work...so it worked out great as a meeting point for everyone. The home is well equipped for cooking, loved the deck in the morning, the neighbors were friendly and made room for us to park and we could walk just about everywhere in town. It was very hot when were there so I wished I had brought a couple extra fans, but it eventually cooled off. We would rent the little bungalow again in a heart beat!

All True

Overall we totally enjoyed our stay at this lovely home in Red Lodge. We were able to walk downtown, have coffee on the deck, comfortably chat in the living room and sleep well on comfortable beds. I would recommend this vacation home as a pleasant way to stay in wonderful Red Lodge. We all though it would be nice to have had some cards or games and we ran short on paper products. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Owner's Response: Thanks Terrence. I'm glad you and you family enjoyed our home! Our home is well suited to families with children. It has plenty of space, two bathrooms, a large yard for play and is in a wonderful, safe family-filled neighborhood of historic homes in Red Lodge. There is a public pool not far away, playing fields for sports, an ice arena in winter, and we are only a couple of minutes walk from the beautiful, historic downtown area. Our neighborhood is perfect for walking and cycling, close to parks, hiking and everything Red Lodge has to offer. We are always glad to have families stay. Thanks again for choosing our home!

It took us all of .5 seconds to feel at home here. This is our first vacation rental home, and it sure opened our eyes to future stays in homes. Eating our meals at "home" added to the quality of our time together. My husband and I live in Whitefish; our daughter and her best friend live in Denver; this was our reunion venue. Bruce, thanks so much for letting us enjoy your home. You were really excellent in communicating with us prior to our visit, and it added to a quality stay. The community of Red Lodge warmed all of our hearts -- what a special, special place.

The owner of this home was very accommodating, as I called him without much notice but everything went smooth and I was very happy to be stayin in a home rather than a motel. The house is very nice and described very well in the listing.
