Keywords: Hotel Alternative - upper level duplex in up-scale residential southwest Minneapolis neighborhood.
I enjoy pampering my guests so that they feel at home.
Babs purchased this house in 1973
Exceptional neighborhood - note all the green on the map which includes
Minnehaha Creek and Lake Harriet, miles of walking/biking trails. Several restaurants/shops within one block, one-half block to the bus stop which connects easily with the light rail.
Classic light-filled second floor duplex.
I didn't want to leave this charming rental! It was beyond clean and an adorable space with plenty of room and lots of light. Babs was a most accommodating host and gave a thorough orientation to the property as well as being readily available for anything that came up during the stay.My husband is very picky about mattresses and the master bed passed his tough standards!
Lake Harriet has always been one of my favorites in the Twin Cities and it was just two blocks to the trail around the lake .The delightful shops of Linden Hills at 44th and Sheridan (with Sebastian Joes and its great ice cream!) were just a little further! Broders Italian deli was just a block away as was Breugers Bagels. There's also great shopping and dining at 50th and France but this would require a short bus ride or car.
I was in Minneapolis celebrating the birth of my first grandchild who only lived 5 blocks away,so it was an easy walk to see him, but gave my daughter and her husband the privacy they wanted as they started their new journey into parenthood. Bus routes are within a block so there is access to the city, but a car would help get around town. The neighborhood in which the house is located is very family oriented. Having a new little one in our family made watching all of the kids on trikes a delight, but would probably not thrill someone looking for a hip, cool experience.
I would come back in a heartbeat- this rental met and exceeded my expectations. Just a delightful experience all the way around! Thank you Babs for a wonderful stay!
Moving our daughter from North Carolina to a Minneapolis graduate school presented many logistical challenges. Luckily, our evening stay was not one of them. This beautiful VRBO rental far exceeded my expectations and Babs was an unobtrusive, yet congenial host. This upstairs rental in the beautiful Lake Harriet area was an easy launch point between the airport and downtown offering convenience to local eateries, shopping, and yet quick access to the interstate. We walked around the block and enjoyed our favorite food in Minneapolis at the Broder's italian deli. Babs even gave us delicious homegrown tomatoes upon our departure. I would highly recommend this rental and will certainly stay here again!!
this is the perfect vacation rental if you're looking for comfort, quiet, amenities, charm, and a perfect city location. situated on a lovely tree-lined street just blocks from lake harriet, it's an ideal spot for an urban experience- close to everything yet removed from the bustle. the 3-season porch is a real gem, and the perfect spot to spend an evening listening to the crickets and watching the stars. we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay here, and highly recommend this house to anyone traveling to minneapolis. the owner is wonderfully charming and helpful, too. we will most certainly return and are looking forward to our next visit.
We stayed here for 5 nights in July. It was the perfect home base while visiting family in the city, being centrally located to downtown, uptown, St Paul, the freeways...so easy to get anywhere from here. The apartment had every comfort of home and was cleaned meticulously before our arrival, which I so appreciated. Though the living room had a great flat screen TV, comfortable furniture, and a beautiful fireplace as it's focal point, morning and evening we all found ourselves gravitating to the large screened summer porch in the back to catch the summer breezes and the singing of the birds in the treetops that surrounded us while discussing plans for the next day. I loved the clean perfect woodwork and wood floors everywhere and the neat china, dishes, pots and pans. They all lent a real character to the place. And, very importantly, the mattresses and linen were SO comfortable and clean topped with soft, fresh chenille coverlet. You couldn't ask for a better, safer, neighborhood with grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, lakes and trails in all directions. We feel we got much more than we paid for staying here. Thank you Babs for being a helpful and courteous host.
My husband and I stayed here with our 8 month old son while we were in town for a family wedding. The property was beautiful. We especially loved the son porch. The property was very clean and quiet. We found it very relaxing and hope to stay in the property again the next time we visit family in the Twin Cities.
The charm and character of this apartment home was matched by its great location, so close to Lake Harriet and the Minnehaha river/bike trails. We loved our stay here, and so appreciated the ability to store our road bikes in the garage for safekeeping. The apartment was spacious, clean and lovely. We felt like we were in our own private treehouse on the back sunporch! A major improvement over staying in a hotel. Everything was perfect, and we plan to visit again.
One-half block to bus stop that connects with light rail. Lake Harriet is a fun-filled place especially in the summer - free concerts every night, trolley car rides, two swimming beaches, boat rides, 2 mile paved path around the lake that joins with miles of other city park paths.
