FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Is the apartment noisy?
The apartment is on the main street, Cortland Avenue, and we are in the city. City life happens. The apartment has double glazed windows and insulated walls to cut down on noise, and it does help. Noise tolerance is very personal and highly subjective to the individual’s comfort zone. Most of our guests do not have a problem with street noise, even babies and toddlers have slept soundly throughout the night in our apartment! If you are a very light sleeper or highly sensitive to any noise, then this is not the right place for you.
2. Why do you charge an extra $80 cleaning fee?
The cleaning fee is a one-time charge to clean the apartment after you check out. It is a fair market rate by San Francisco standard. We take pride in delivering a clean, sanitized and comfortable apartment to each guest staying with us.
3. Why do I need to sign a rental agreement with you?
The rental agreement is a standard document that I require all my guests to acknowledge and sign, so that we are on the same page and have no cause for any misunderstanding. Different hosts have their own way of doing things to ensure a safe environment for themselves and their guests. I find it useful as a communication tool to make sure all is good and agreeable before the guests check in. This is also one way to gauge the sincerity of complete strangers coming into our home.
4. Is there parking available?
There is ample free street parking on our side of Cortland Avenue. It is not a problem to find parking either just outside or near the apartment.
5. What is your refund policy?
An upfront deposit equivalent to one night’s stay is required to reserve the apartment. The balance payment is due one month before arrival date. You can cancel your reservation at any time, provided that you notify us one month before your check in date to get your initial deposit back. If the check in date is less than a month away, then a full payment is required to book the apartment. No refunds will be issued for last minute cancellations.
6. Can 4 adults stay in your apartment?
NO. Our listing clearly states the maximum occupancy is 3 adults, or 2 adults with 2 small children under 10 years old.
7. Are babies and toddlers welcome?
Yes of course! Just a few things to consider: The apartment is essentially meant for two adults, so we are not equipped for infants and toddlers i.e. no child proofing and no bathtub, only a small shower stall. This might be something to think about with infants and young children.
8. Is my baby/toddler considered a third person?
We are happy to waive the third person charge for children under 12 months old. Extra person charge applies for everyone older than 1 year old.

I am a traveler and global culturalist at heart, with a fondness for learning new languages, understanding different life perspectives and meeting wonderful people from all walks of life who are equally open-minded and perceptive. Having lived in many places around the world, San Francisco is home and I look forward to welcoming you to my city! Safe travels and be happy!
Owner purchased this apartment in 2005
We spent a very enjoyable week in this apartment which was well appointed and perfect in every way.
Prior to our arrival we received lots of helpful information on travel routes to the apartment. Although our arrival time was very late at night Lisa was there waiting to welcome us and show us around the apartment.
The apartment's proximity to public transport was ideal for exploring this beautiful city, an added bonus being that Bernal Heights missed much of the fog which affected the downtown areas.
Lisa was a most attentive host and was readily available and happy to answer any queries we had.
We would definitely recommend this apartment and would love to stay there again on any future visits to San Francisco.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Lisa is an exceptional host....very friendly and available for any questions. The apartment is well stocked and Lisa welcomed us with a beautiful bowl of fresh fruit, which was delicious! The location is excellent...walking distance to cute shops and great coffee. The apartment was super clean and comfortable. We were lucky in that my son lives in the area and thus provided us with all the transportation and sight-seeing needs we encountered. Lisa provided a detailed list of public transportation,
however, for anyone visiting without a car. All in all, it was a great visit!
We had a wonderful stay this summer at Lisa's place. The appartment is very nice and convenient. The neighbourhood is quiet with good rstaurants and a very good organic supermarket (the good life).Public transportation to go downtown San Francisco is not so far.Lisa is very welcoming and helpful with everything you need.If we come back to San Francisco, what we hope to do,we will come back at Lisa's place.Philippe and Marie Laure (and Valentin)
My husband and I wanted to get away for our 5 year anniversary, and this was the perfect spot in San Francisco. The neighborhood was quiet and the owner had sparkling wine and fresh fruit ready for us. The place was clean, everything worked well, and it was the perfect size for the two of us. We decided to ride MUNI busses everywhere and there was a stop just feet from our front door, which was super convenient. It took about an hour to take the bus all the way to Fisherman's Wharf and surrounding areas, but it was worth it to us not to have to pay or worry about parking. We just parked our car right outside the apartment (for free) and left it most of the week. Even when we did take our car out (like to cross the Golden Gate Bridge), we easily found parking when we got back. The owner was friendly and attentive. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Lisa's apartment is super cozy, clean and a perfect location!
Very close to Mission district where is the best area to eat, drink, shop and having fun.
In front of her apartment, the bus #67 takes us directly to the 24th Mission street station. Easy access to BURT.
Great apartment for not only foodies fashionistas and cool people, but also nature lovers. When you reach the top of the trail behind her apartment, you can experience wonderful view of entire city of San Francisco.
I love to go Progressive Grounds (400 Cortland Ave) to have a cup of coffee and a little pastry in the morning. Great way to start the day!
It is also a good idea to take a class, Restorative Flow at Vernal Yoga (908 Cortland Ave) where is across the street from Lisa’s. I enjoyed it after the long flight from Tokyo.
It was so good to release the tension on my back and stretch over the body.
No reservation required. Just drop in and sign up a lesson. Pop in there and ask for schedule of a day or visit their website! CHAMALYN, the tea shop (317 Cortland Ave),
is good place to find various types of tea.
Wonderful host, beautiful apartment. Very relaxed and tranquil atmosphere.
Love it! I cannot believe that Lisa’s apartment is in the middle of the city.
I highly recommend it!
Lisa’s hospitality made me feel so confortable at the apartment.
I definitely stay her place again when I come back to San Francisco.
We returned to this lovely apartment for the second time, and found it, just as before, clean, comfortable, and convenient. We were able to walk up Cortland to The Good Life grocery store, which we love. The kitchen is well-equipped, and we were able to make breakfasts, as well as a few other meals. Plenty of space for clothing to hang. Plenty of reference information to help us. We will be back... Thanks, again, Lisa.
The apartment is located in the cosy neighborhood with loads of cafes and restaurants. The people around the area are very easy going and friendly. The apartment is ideal for a couple who wish to explore the " Real San Francisco " lifestyle .It is clean and spotless and with a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment is newly renovated and it is well maintained. Lisa has provided very useful information for the ease and convenience of the guests which is of great help. The host is friendly and helpful. Overall, we have a pleasant stay in this apartment.

We are on the main street and we are in the city, so yes, there is city life. There’s nothing much I can do about it except to make sure the windows are double-glazed and the walls are insulated in the apartment.

The cleaning fee is a one-time charge to clean the apartment after you check out. It is a fair market rate by San Francisco standard. We take pride in delivering a clean and comfortable apartment to each guest staying with us. Every time a guest checks out, the apartment is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized for the next new guest. This takes time and money to hire the right person to do the job well.
Why do I need to sign a rental agreement with you?
The rental agreement is a standard document that I require all my guests to acknowledge and sign, so that we are on the same page and have no cause for any misunderstanding. AirBnB only handles the fee transaction and is not responsible nor do they own my property. Different hosts have their own way of doing things to ensure a safe environment for themselves and their guests. I find it useful as a communication tool to make sure all is good and agreeable before the guests check in. This is also one way to gauge the sincerity of complete strangers coming into our home.
