Ask our Property Manager for names and numbers of local 'Fishing Guides'. There are several USCG Licensed Guide services which operate out of the Beaver Creek Marina area. Most of the guide services specialize in Striper fishing, the largest fish found in Lake cumberland. Fishing parties schedule weeks in advance as good guides are hard to find, therefore make your reservations well in advance, then bring your catch back to the lakehouse for a feast. While you are fishing, the girls can shop at the nearest Mall In Somerset, just 25 minutes away, then meet up for a cozy evening as the sun goes down at the lakehouse. 5 minutes from Beaver Creek Marina where boat and ski-do rentals are available. 5 minutes from the Apple Orchard ramp (public launch-free).
Beautiful place, great view and immaculately clean. It is obvious that the owner really cares about the property and keeps it maintained. Small frustrations were that the tub in the master suite was out of service, and that there were not nearly enough towels and no bath mats at all in any of the bathrooms. With six people and only three towels per bathroom, after using the jacuzzi, it was a challenge to find a dry towel for a shower. Other than these small details it was very enjoyable, and I we look forward to a retuen visit.
We really enjoyed our weekend stay. The view is fantastic!
When you drive up the winding road to this home the scenery is breath taking. Lake Cumberland can be viewed through the trees & you get that feeling your vacation has begun. The circle driveway was perfect for our bass boat & trailer & we were able to back up to the shed to charge the trolling motors. As we walked in the front door my boys & husband started high-fiving me on choosing this house. Win for Mom!
That first step in the house you see the sun shine through the floor to ceiling windows & the view just takes your breath away. There are three full bathrooms with plenty of towels & three bedrooms with comfortable beds & PLENTY of extra bedding. The kitchen is fully functional & I cooked 3 meals a day here while on our trip. My only suggestion would be to bring a casserole dish for oven cooking. There are plenty of pots/pans/serviceware, just not much to bake in. We also brought extra toilet paper, paper towel & garbage bags as suggested. There is a washer/dryer which was perfect for us. I had everyone pack super light & just ran a load of clothes each night. Also, no dirty clothes to wash when you get home. Another win for Mom! The bathroom pipes do make a noise after flushing, but we could care less. Water pressure in showers was awesome & bathrooms immaculate. The house stayed cooled through the July heat, no issues. Three balconies was where we spent the mornings drinking coffee & reconnecting as a family. Nights spent relaxing in the hot tub. The gas grill was not working or we couldn't figure it out. Didn't matter to us, it was too hot to stand in front of a grill. The downstairs pooltable/fooseball/checkers kept the kids entertained while Mom & Dad unwound. Cell service (Verizon) worked throughout the house &surrounding areas. There is no internet. No problem-I turned my cell phone into a hot-spot & boom we had Internet. We spent everyday fishing, docking at beaches, swimming, camp fires & having quality family time. Boaters:ramps in area are steep. My 2wd Flex did fine, but we were sweating it. There is a launch a mile from the house w/more in the area. Beavers creek marina=10min boat ride, bait, fuel, bathrooms.
I have rented many homes on VRBO & I am here to testify, you will NEVER find a home this beautiful & spacious for this price. Shelia has done an amazing job maintaining the house with all amenities needed, clean decor & friendly stress-free rental transactions. Stop looking, this is your vacation home.
The cabin is amazing! The view from the porch is breathtaking.
WOW! I simply can not say enough good things about this property. It was absolutely stunning. Beautiful and comfortable decor, tons and tons of space, large rooms, updated appiliances, beautiful decks and hardwood floors, and clean. The surprise, brand new 8 person hot tub, not listed in the web page was an extra special bonus.
I would recommend to anyone and may even rent it again next year.
My only negatives, and I only add this because I know Sheila reads these and acts on them, would be:
1. lack of WIFI - some of our guests work from home and had to go to town to get internet.
2. I know the hot tub is new, but half of the jets didn't work.
3. The pipes make a loud shuddering noise in the walls when you flush the toilet and would wake my grandson from his naps. Also, the water hose to the washing machine makes a VERY loud and constant noise when filling the tub. dont do laundry at bedtime.
4. you advertise having a big loop driveway, perfect for people with boats, but the wooden posts straddling either end of the driveway dont allow large trailers to make the bend off of the narrow road. wed had to drive through the yard to get in and turned around.
But, those were all minor and could be worked around. We loved the house and would DEFINITELY stay there again.
Our family had an absolutely wonderful time at this cabin! Sheila was so pleasant to talk to and answered all of our questions. Southern hospitality at its finest. We had 3 adults and 4 kids and we were all comfortable here. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of extra linens, pillows, and blankets. Waking up every morning was amazing looking out the wall of windows into the landscape filled with trees. The big upper deck was great for hanging out and having meals together while taking in the beautiful scenery. There was a cute little kitty that quickly became my 4-year-old's best friend although she was quite disappointed when I told her we couldn't take it home with us! The basement had a pool table and foosball that kept the kids entertained after long days on the lake. There is a very nice hot tub on the lower deck that was relaxing for the adults once the kiddos were in bed. We would definitely stay here again and are already trying to plan our next trip!
