About Danielle Foley
I grew up in the northern part of Rhode Island, but spent many fun-filled days at the Narragansett beaches as a child. My husband, Chris, is from the Philly area, where we lived when we were newly married. Much to my delight, he fell in love with Narragansett when my parents, sister and our family decided to rent a house for a week back in 2004. Each year we rented, Chris would drive around looking at houses to buy 'someday.' Fast forward to 2010...we were living in Shanghai, China on an expat assignment for Chris' job, now with two children. We found Green Acres online and instantly knew it was the place for us. We bought it sight unseen (well, my parents checked it out of course). We have so enjoyed the house each summer. After that, we lived in Sydney, Australia for two years and have recently returned to the States. Our children, now 8 and 10, love the neighborhood, spending time at the dock clamming and crabbing, and kayaking in Salt Pond.

Why Danielle Foley chose Narragansett
The Sunset Shores neighborhood is small and located off Point Judith Road in a tiny little enclave bordering Salt Pond. It's very quiet because the only reason anyone would drive down into the neighborhood would be because they live there or to visit someone. The houses are well-kept due to the many year-round residents. There isn't a 'rental feel' in the neighborhood, which makes for a very relaxed atmosphere. Going down to the dock to read, clam, catch crabs or take in the view makes for a wonderful after-beach activity, and sometimes takes the place of going to the beach at all for us! It is nice to have that additional entertainment option with the kids!
What makes this house unique
--Salt Pond--great for kayaking, floating on a raft, crabbing, and clamming
--Third floor turret--a nice place to watch the sunset, enjoy the breeze, and read
--Great backyard--Weber grill, shaded area, nice for small get-togethers
--Spacious master bedroom--room to spread out; adjoining office with a door is a great place for a baby to sleep in a pack-and-play
Guestbook comments from the owner
We had a wonderful time this past weekend in RI. The weather was fabulous. Thank you for allowing us to rent your house. We thought your house by the Sea was spectacular and was perfect for our needs. We even barbecued one evening.
Again, it was perfect for our needs for graduation weekend. We did not use the washer/dryer or the kayaks or bikes. The dishes in the dishwasher are clean and trash was placed by curb and picked up Monday morning. Any remaining trash we placed in cans outside.
We embraced the culture of RI visiting Newport, Block Island, and eating at Champlins in Galilee and Turtle Soup at the Rose Tree Inn. We even purchased steaks and burgers from the local farm. I left a little note in the guest book, but wanted to follow up via email.
Thanks again and have a wonderful summer! We would definitely consider renting from you again, should we visit RI in the future.
