Charming Home in Beautiful Trinity
My husband, 2 grown children, Dad and companion stayed at Bartlett Manor in August for 2 nights. Although the home looks in need of a coat of paint from the outside, it is absolutely beautiful and charming inside. We were met with a key at the appointed time and from the moment we stepped inside, we fell in love. The entire home was spotless, with gleaming wood floors, very comfortable furniture, well equipped kitchen (filled with coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, paper towels for the guests' use). The two single rooms upstairs were small (beware your heads when going through the doorways!), but fine for our children, and there are two double rooms with very comfortable beds downstairs. There are lovely views of Trinity from every window, and a deck outside complete with BBQ which we availed ourselves of one night. I have a slight prejudice towards Trinity as my Dad grew up there, but it is a charming village with lots of good walks or hiking nearby, many historical sites, St. Paul's Anglican Church, and at least 3 restaurants in the village (The Twine Loft - pricey, but good; The Dock Marina - more casual, but excellent food and a great view). My daughter loved the cafe in town for a good latte and a place to read and meet other people. We visited Bonavista one day, climbed to the top of Gun Hill in Trinity for spectacular 360 degree views, have hiked the Skerwink Trail on a previous trip and can highly recommend this hike for spectacular scenery, my husband and son fished with Bruce Miller, who runs Rugged Beauty Boat Tours out of Bonaventure. They had a wonderful time with Bruce and highly recommend going out with him. My daughter and I visited the Random Passage site in New Bonaventure, and quite enjoyed that as well. We would absolutely recommend this home as a place to stay in Trinity. From dealing with Donna when making the reservation (she was very helpful and answered all our questions promptly) to meeting with Dorothy in Trinity (a lovely woman who was very helpful to us when making the transition to the Morris Manor next door for our next 3 nights), Bartlett Manor was an excellent choice. I would definitely stay there again.
