Great Exuma is a small, but inviting island with endless opportunities to experience the Bahamian way. A short trip to Georgetown allows you to visit local restaurants, buy groceries and gas, get your hair done, or order fresh caught fish. A visit to the local 'Straw Market' is a great way to pick up a few trinkets and t-shirts and watch local ladies weave straw baskets. You may even be lucky enough to pick up some fresh local veggies for supper. Fishing supplies and boat and fishing guide rentals are available. A pedestrian ferry, also located in Georgetown carries folks over to Stocking Island, a barrier island just off the east coast of central Exuma. Experience the unforgettable, traditional 'pig roast' at The Chat & Chill , get closeup and personal with huge rays or be really adventuresome and taste a local special 'conch salad'! Do some sail boat watching, snorkeling and exploring, which might even lead you to the other side of the island, open seas and great beach combing.

If you're more inclined to a driving adventure, there is a car rental agency 2 minutes walk from your vacation home. Drive up or down island to experience historic sites, amazing tropical scenery and more public and sometimes not so accessible beaches. Shoot a round at the fabulous Greg Norman Signature Golf Course, at Sandals Resort, just 15 minutes drive north of Palm Bay Resort.

And don't miss the evening 'Fish Fry'! Whether you're into the fresh caught fish of the day, prepared in any of many Bahamian ways or chicken and ribs over a huge drum barbeque, be sure to wander down the Queen's Highway about a half mile to a collection of kiosks and picnic tables called 'Fish Fry'! Yum!

Scuba diving adventures are amazing as the out islands provide opportunities for a variety of diving skills. Bring your gear or rent, and guides on the island will ensure you have a great day!

  • 1975 per week
  • Payment is in US currency. A deposit of $500.00 is required upon booking. This holds your reservation and goes towards your rental but is forfeited should you cancel less than 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival. If, however, your time is booked by another guest/party, your deposit may be refunded. Rental rates cover accommodation and resort fees for up to a party of four guests in beautiful, beach side townhouse #37. This includes use of the resort shuttle bus which runs on a schedule into the Georgetown, complimentary use of reception computers, beach and poolside chairs and palapas, non-motorized beach toys, swimming pools, beach towel exchange and complimentary cell phone usage. The required 10% Bahamian Hotel tax and end-of-stay cleaning charges will be added to quoted rental rates.
  • Cell phone credits, wireless internet, use of Hobiecats and propane barbeque use are available at an additional guest cost and are payable directly at the resort. Daily freshen-up maid service is an optional service, provided at guest cost, and must be requested prior to arrival.
    A concierge service is offered through on-site management at Palm Bay, and is offered separately from your accommodation rental. Approximately one week prior to your arrival, an information package offering concierge services will be emailed to you. These services are available as a convenience which you may or may not choose to use.
    YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION WILL BE REQUIRED AT THE RESORT UPON CHECK-IN.

This is OUR Homeaway! (3rd Stay)

This was our 3rd stay in this unit (4th at Palm Bay). If someone chooses to stay at a place 3 times, doesn't that say enough????
We were just there in March (see previous review), but the family wanted to go again and I'm not going to argue about going back to Palm Bay or Exuma!
Mike and Sandi are wonderful to work with. In fact, we brought a few things to leave in the kitchen to compliment our NEXT stay. We also left 4 floats under the stairs. We tie them to the boat we rent from Minns and they have a 25 foot rope that allows you to float around without going too far. They will also work great at Jolly Hally beach.
Wonderful accomidations, great floorplan, full kitchen, full size washer and dryer, great balcony to view the sunrise and convenient to everything.

Thank you for considering unit 37! If you do stay, be sure to let Mike and Sandi know of anything that is needed so that we can bring it down next time!

Paradise Perfection

Without a doubt, our stay at Palm Beach proved to be our favorite family vacation to date!! The beach on the property was relaxing and easy -- the absolute perfect spot for our two year-old daughter to play. The water was clear and calm, and our baby girl was able to wade freely within it without us worrying at all. The staff at the hotel was always incredibly helpful, as were the owners of this property. The villa itself was spacious and nicely equipped with all one could need to feel at home.

We have traveled all over the Caribbean, but Exuma now reigns as our favorite island. The turquoise waters are unparalleled, the white sand is powdery soft, and the locals are friendly. We cannot return soon enough, and will most definitely stay here again when we do!

Stayed again and planning another!

We recently stayed her in June of 2011 and looked all around again to find a different island or maybe a different place to stay. After HOURS AND HOURS online and many family discussions, we kept coming back to how much we enjoyed Exuma and how wonderful unit 37 is at Palm Bay in meeting our family needs of space, comfort and privacy.

If you are thinking about coming to Exuma, STAY HERE! It is spacious, clean, well stocked, has 2 and a half baths, FULL SIZE washer and dryer and a dishwasher (many units do NOT have one). The beds are comfortable, 3 tv's (if you use them!), onsite restuarant, free shuttle into town and Minns will let you keep one of their boats onsite.

Mike and Sandi are very responsive and just nice people to work with as well!

I have posted lots of Exuma and Palm Bay info on tripadvisor.com so go there for the things to do and tours to take. But, if you go to Exuma, you should try to stay here. The enjoyment of your trip depends on it!

Nice family vacation in July

The accommodations in this townhouse were excellent; all the rooms, especially kitchen and dining/living room upstairs, are spacious. Having a full kitchen in the unit was great. Because eating out is expensive, we mostly ate at the unit except when we were driving around the island, going out for lunch, or taking boat trips.

The location of Palm Bay is great. It saved us a lot of money by avoiding renting a car except couple of times, when we wanted to explore the island. Palm Bay shuttle service to Georgetown was complimentary, it goes once every two hours (the first one at 9am and the last one at 5 pm) , it takes you anywhere within Georgetown (e.g. grocery store or Minn’s rental boats).

We also rented a car across the street from Palm Bay, drove to Santannas in Williamstown on Little Exuma, had lunch there, it was excellent. If you like bakery and deserts, you can also buy very good (and sweet) rum cakes from Mom’s bakery that is next door to Santannas. Then, we drove to the north of the island. We also used a water taxi. It took us from Palm Bay to Stocking Island that was definitely worth visiting. We walked across the island to the ocean side of it, saw and touched stingrays which were swimming along the beach during lunch time.

While Palm Bay beach is good, Jolly Hall beach that is 5 minute walk along the water from the unit is beautiful. We preferred Palm Bay beach for snorkeling, and Jolly Hall beach for swimming. Children also enjoyed kayaks and table tennis at Palm Bay. We spent two weeks in the middle of July at Palm Bay. We were afraid of hurricane season, but It rained only twice during our stay: first time it lasted from 3 pm to ~10 am next morning, and second time it was overnight. So, the weather was very good. Overall, we had a great time, and would stay at this unit again.

Everything Positive at Palm Bay!

When we decided to return to Exuma, we thought we might try someplace different as we have stayed at Palm Bay before. But after looking at MANY choices, we know we made the correct decision!
Mike and Sandi have a wonderful place! It is roomy (2 stories with bedrooms down and living up), well appointed (comfy beds, dvd players/flatscreens & plenty of places to sit), has a wonderful layout, fantastic & USEFUL balcony (great view overlooking beach & dock), full size kitchen (including dishwasher), & FULL size washer & dryer (remember you are at the beach and EVERYTHING gets sand in it!).
You can look all over the net, but with the features this unit has, then add free shuttle into town (a taxi is $10 one way), FREE use of dock should you rent a boat (only way to go), on site restaurant (for times you just don't want to cook), great snorkling RIGHT off the beach (including large barricuda!) you really won't find a better place for your money.
