Charming retreat
We loved, loved, loved our stay at the log lodge on Lake Leelenau. The cottage was just perfect with all finishes exactly as you'd hope for a log cabin but with all the bells and whistles you could dream. The kitchen was great and well-appointed; I even made use of the cast iron skillet for a fabulous apple pie. Leonard even had fresh baked bread with local jam ready on our arrival! The beds were extremely comfortable. We made use of the various patio areas - the north side for s'mores on the fire pit, the picnic table for meals, and the side with a water view for grilling on the very nice gas grill and enjoying coffee in the mornings and local wine in the evenings. Our two young daughters made thorough use of the shared play areas with swings and play house as well as the sandy beach. We took advantage of the available bikes and rode the gravel roads nearby. Rosemary, the friendly neighbor dog was a welcome companion and could be found lounging outside most mornings. Very convenient location for side trips to Sutton's Bay, Leeland/Fishtown, Glen Arbor, and Traverse City.
My only fear in writing this review is that we might find the cottage booked up for the week we'd like to reserve next year!
