Lovely apartment located along the Prinsengracht canal in the famous Jordaan in downtown Amsterdam. In walking distance of everything Amsterdam has to offer!
The apartment is very light and has a great view on the canal and historic canal houses.
The bedroom is amazingly quiet and completely dark at night.
The bathroom has a bath tub for you to relax after having explored town. Or have a drink on the balcony!
The apartment is right where you want to be: the popular 9 streets across from the canal are the most delightful boutique shopping area. A short walk via picturesque streets takes you to the Dam square, Leidseplein, museums and the farmers market. The health food store, bakery, chocolatier, pastry shops and Thai, Turkish, Japanse and Indonesian restaurants all are to be found within 300 feet from the house.
Public transport is nearby. Trams 13 and 17 at the Westerkerk / Anne Frank house take you to the central station (10 min tram ride). Bus 197 at the end of the street takes you to the airport (only half an hour).
Since I moved to Amsterdam in 1995 I have lived in most neigbourhoods. After having stayed in the Jordaan I knew that was the right place for me to call home. Soon afterwards I was lucky to find my home, the apartment that is available for you.
For a living I work in Amsterdam as a massage therapist. Several weeks a year I am in France and I have been spending the summers in the USA.
I like others to enjoy my lovely apartment when I am away. It is too pretty to sit empty and so well situated to experience Amsterdam.
Francine purchased this apartment in 2004
The apartment has a perfect balance between privacy upstairs, and life in the streets.
The light coming in the living room windows plus the trees and Prinsengracht canal in front of the house make me feel connected to nature whilst being downtown in the Jordaan.
The Elandsgracht was a canal until 1891. This means the now street is wider than the average Amsterdam street, giving the living room a spacious feel.
graceful zen like apartment (exactly as pictured) in south Jordaan with lovely outlook. Francine is a delight to deal with.
This apartment is truly perfect and the owner is an absolute dream to work with. I have used VRBO many times and this was the best communication and planning I’ve ever experienced. There are personal touches everywhere including; detailed emails prior to arrival to help you get around Amsterdam, maps and a large amount of information in the apartment itself and plenty of towels/sheets/pillows etc. The apartment is incredibly clean and comfortable. The front windows allow for a clear view of the canal, not to mention the wonderful park right out front. It’s across from a grocery, pub and over several very good restaurants, not to mention a gelato shop. The location is very close to the 9 streets (shopping), museums (very easy walking distance), outdoor market (blocks away) and the Anne Frank Museum is right up the street as well. It is a quiet apartment at night and during the day it is a busy, fun part of town with an artsy, close neighborhood feel. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and know you will not be disappointed. I liked it so much, I have stayed more than once!
This apartment is in a perfect location in Amsterdam. We were within walking distance to museums and other sights, restaurants, the Anne Frank House, stores, and cafes. The apartment was clean, well-equipped, cozy, quiet, and had a lovely view of the canal. Francine was so helpful in answering our questions and even e-mailed us to make sure we settled in well. The Turkish restaurant, Divan, a few doors down had great food. The Jordaan is a beautiful part of the city, and we definitely recommend this apartment.
We have just left your apartment and have had an absolutely fabulous time. We loved sitting in the living room people watching and watching the canal boats go by. We will definitely look to stay there again if we ever return to Amsterdam.
My partner and I spent a week in Francine’s lovely, comfortable apartment. The apartment is immaculate and exactly as described and pictured. We endorse all the positive comments made by other reviewers. The apartment has everything you need and more. The ‘more’ is the fantastic location in the Jordaan and Francine herself.
Amsterdam is a pretty, relaxed city and its people friendly and welcoming. The apartment is in a perfect location and the setting, overlooking Johnny Jordaanplein and the Prinsengracht canal, is just gorgeous. It is hard to tear yourself away from sitting and looking out of Francine’s big picture windows. Amsterdam is very easy to walk around and everywhere is walkable from the apartment. Near the apartment you also will find plenty of grocery and food shopping places, cafes, restaurants and bars.
Francine was great to deal with. She was prompt with replies and in answering our incessant questions before we booked. After booking she provided fantastic support with information, instructions on how to use everything in the apartment as well as lots of tips for tourists, information about transport, recommendations on what to see and do, where to eat, etc. as well as contacts for help if you need it (we didnt) if Francine is not available or contactable. Maps and other useful information is also available in the apartment. We were fortunate that Francine was also able to greet us at the apartment and personally show us around.
We can’t imagine a better place to stay in Amsterdam or a nicer and more helpful host. Highly recommended.
This apartment is just as advertised. We fell in love with it. I hate telling you this because we want to come back someday, and I'm afraid it might be booked up. What a beautiful city. I've been to 39 countries, and I've never seen a more beautiful major city. The people are without a doubt the friendliest I've ever met. They were wonderful to us. During our stay, we never met one rude or impatient person, and they speak better English than most Americans. Francine is the greatest. We had a problem with the Wifi, but I'm sure she will take care of it soon. I never thought I would want to come back since there are so many other great places to see, yet I'll definitely return someday. Thanks again, Francine.
