Our first visit to this area and your cabin looked just right for our escape with our little dog. Comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen, comfortable seating in & out to enjoy our surroundings watch the stars & full moon, and local wild life. The glow of the fire early morning just was the best. Hope to return next year..
Definitely a nice place to stay, layout of the house was perfect with all the comforts of home. Only negatives were the fact that at sometime someone had a cat in the house and we had a friend over that is really allergic to cats, therefore we had to go into town to visit, and the house keeping left a bit to be desired. But we will be back!
The cabin was great. It was very clean and well-maintained, and the listing pictures were very accurate as to the layout and amenities of the cabin.
There was a tremendous view of the mountains from the master bedroom, and the stars were amazing from the second bedroom.
We particularly appreciated the location of the cabin which was about 5 miles or so from Pagosa (5-10 minute drive), but secluded enough that we had almost no traffic going by the cabin. We saw deer every morning.
The ages of our group ranged from 86 down to 11, and we all thought this was the best place we've rented yet. If we vacation in Pagosa again, Big Horn cabin will definitely be our first choice.
We had wonderful days at Steve´s cabin. It´s so silent, you can hear your blood flowing during the night. The Cabin is perfect equiped and has everything to relax. We were specially impressed by the "firetable". The photos of the cabin reflect exactly the realitiv. The house was very clean. The agency, that manages the rental, is very helpful (they sended 30 minutes after reclamation a team to repair the frigde). And: Pagos springs is wonderful.
Spent most of our spring break at Big Horn - 3 teens and husband - all skiers/snowboarders except Mom. The cabin suited us perfectly! It's quiet and cozy, clean and private, new and nicely decorated. Really lovely setting and views. I was super happy at home with my internet access (brought my own laptop), satellite TV to watch all the NCAA basketball games, and quiet for reading. We were especially happy with the big, super-well-equipped kitchen (and gas grill). Owner was friendly and accommodating and property manager was at the ready when we needed a couple of things. Lots of nice little touches like restaurant guides and recommendations, grocery store "value" card, activity brochures... We loved Pagosa Brewing Company, Kip's and Alley House. We'll be back!
There were six of us that stayed at Big Horn Cabin:
our daughter and husband, 2 grandkids, 9 & 11
y/o. It was a perfect family getaway. The
grandkids were so excited about the sleds and
spent several hours every morning taking the sleds
down the perfect hill in back of the cabin. The
neighbor's VERY friendly dog appeared every
morning to play with the kids. The wild turkeys
were around our cabin every morning--what a
treat! The accommodations were great. The gas
fireplace was a favorite spot for everyone. Kitchen
well supplied as we ate all meals in the cabin. The
grandparents enjoyed cross-country skiing and the
rest did downhill at Wolf Creek; short lift lines on
President's weekend. Everyone enjoyed the Hot
Springs. This home is warm, comfortable and a
wonderful place for families to stay. I'm so
thankful we chose Big Horn Cabin. I highly
recommend this vacation spot.
