A Fantastic Family Vacation!

My family and I made our first trip to Puerto Aventuras to this unit over the kids April school break. We could not have found a more relaxing and at the same time exciting vacation place! The unit owner was very accomodating as we adjusted our arrival and departure dates. He gave us great travel tips for getting here (car rental, driving tips) and then a long list of things to do once we got there. The beauty of this pace is that it is NOT Cancun. This is a 'grown up' vacation place but certainly not 'stuffy and uptight'. No drunken idots yelling in the streets. Condo looks out to pool/ocean and every day starts with coffee on the balcony. Everything you need to enjoy, cook, do laundry, sleep etc is included and of highest quality - all as advertised. We spent days lazy on the beach and others full of activity. We did Xcaret for a full day (could have been 2), Tulum to see ruins, Playa del Carmen for some 'local' flavor (but you need to get off the tourist track) and a bunch of amazing restaurants not associated with hotels/resorts that had the best food (you MUST go to Paamul for dinner - 10 minutes away - don't ask, just go). Horseback riding on the ocean, fishing charters etc. Never at a loss. Puerto itself has everything you need self-contained - restaurants, convenience store, some great shopping in the village area. Swimming with dolphins (we were chicken). Will DEFINITELY be back!
