If you have a car with you, you can get to the highway to go north or east in no time. Local ski mountains are 45 minutes away, beaches are less than 20 minutes away, and we are a 7 minute walk to the best Saturday Farmers Market in SW British Columbia (May thru October).

Perfect for an extended stay as kitchen is well equipped, bed very comfortable, living room wonderfully decorated and just the perfect place to unwind. Very quiet neighbourhood, a horticulturalists delight. Walking the manicured pathways, a delightful daily experience. Trout lake and farmers market, just steps away. A great place for a vacation. "sweet" suite!

This apartment was cozy and well supplied. We loved the surrounding neighborhood
and the proximity to the bike/walking path and public transportation to the city center.
Restaurants and shopping were just a 10/15 minute walk away on Commercial Drive. Devorah was very helpful and friendly.

We (young couple) had a lovely stay at Suite Dreams. The apartment is really clean and cute and we liked the location on a quiet street close to the skytrain station at Commercial and Broadway. Devorah is an organized and helpful host.

Excellent Choice for a Family

  • 5 of 5
This property was perfectly suited for our family of 4: two adults, a small child and a baby. The neighborhood is very safe and family-friendly. We were even lucky enough to arrive in time for our son to do some trick-or-treating with the neighborhood kids on Halloween. The suite, itself, is just what we needed: enough space with a kitchen and refrigerator. It is artistically decorated but without breakables, which is a major plus when you have a three-year-old! The owners are so nice, very easy to work with, and gave us some great ideas for activities in Vancouver (the aquarium is not to be missed). Overall, a wonderful experience.

We really had a great time at this lovely quiet place. The kitchen is well equipped and the whole suite
is clean and comfortable. The location is great, a short ride with the rail (the station is really close)
takes you directly to the city center.

Terrific "home base" for exploring Vancouver

Terrific "home base" for exploring Vancouver
  • 5 of 5
Our family had the pleasure of staying at Suite Dreams in Vancouver and are happy to report that it more than lived up to the other reviews. It was a terrific home base for us to explore the city and nearby locations. It starts with the convenient and quiet location in a nice residential area. The suite is just a short (and pleasant) walk to Commercial Drive, which has dozens of restaurants, groceries, and shops. It is also the location of a SkyTrain station, which will take you into the central city or many other areas for minimal cost. If you don't plan to leave the primary metro area, you likely won't need a car. However, if your plans include travel to nearby areas (e.g., Whistler), the location east of downtown provides quick access to major highways without having to deal with the gridlock of the business district/waterfront.

The suite itself is a well-kept and nicely decorated basement apartment in a neighborhood of beautiful older homes with mature landscaping and gardens. Since the basement is garden-level with a private entry, it offers plenty of light and privacy. The hospitable owners allow guests to use their parklike backyard, which makes it like you are staying at a friend's house. The neighborhood is very quiet, and we always felt safe walking around with our family (just watch out for fast-moving bicycle commuters on the bike path near the pedestrian walkway to Commercial Drive!).

Assuming this location works for you, the only potential drawback is that the suite is in a basement, which means somewhat low ceilings. Since this is clearly stated in the listing, it should not come as a surprise. This leads to the last point, which is the overall accuracy of the listing and the straightforward dealings with the owner. Everything was advertised (or better), and the owner was both businesslike in her handling of all aspects of the transaction and quite helpful in setting out informational materials. Highly recommended property!

Cute spot in quiet neighborhood

  • 4 of 5
My mother and I could not have been more comfortable in this unit during our week long stay. The guide book the owners provided for our stay and the handy tips they gave made our visit so much more enjoyable. The unit is about a 10 minute walking from the sky rail, which will take you virtually anywhere worth visiting in Vancouver. The owners provided clean towels, fresh soap, and funky knick knacks and art adorn the walls. If you are looking for something off the beaten path in a gorgeous, quiet neighborhood, look no further. The walk to the station is well worth the stay in this gem.
