Further details for this vacation house rental in County Cork, Ireland

Kinsale:: Winner of European prize for Tourism and the Environment, Entente Florale, National Tidy Town, Gourmet Capital - one of Ireland's oldest towns, with narrow streets and many historic buildings to explore; all sheltered by a beautiful harbour. Museums, historic forts, art galleries, craft shops, not to mention the 40+ bars and restaurants that give Kinsale its reputation for good food and that Irish only phenomenon called 'craic'. Oh, and the Guinness is good too!

For the active: Choose from 3 golf courses including the spectacular and world renowned Links at The Old Head of Kinsale, deep-sea fishing, sailing or perhaps a harbour cruise. Maybe spend a day at one of the many 'empty' beaches nearby or perhaps visit the Norman built 12th century church of St Multose and 15th century Desmond Castle which houses the International Musem of Wine, or the twin 17th century forts guarding the entrance to the harbour to learn about our town that is one of the oldest in Ireland. Whatever is for you, you will find it here in Kinsale.

Getting here: Is easy with direct flights to Cork from most UK and many European airports. Coming from America? Cork is only a 40 minute flight from Dublin International airport, and about 2 hours car journey to Shannon Airport. If you're arriving by car Cork Ferryport, serving Roscoff in France, is only 14 miles away. And finally, as all our properties are in the walled grounds of Scilly House we are on hand if you need us. Just ask! FOR FURTHER DETAILS AND PHOTOS please contact us for our website address.

'We were delighted with the very high standard of accommodation....When we return to Kinsale it will be as much to experience staying in the Chart House and its wonderful gardens as it will be to experience Kinsale itself' Craig & Wendy R. July 2003
Many thanks for beautiful five star accommodation....its by far the best self catering we've had. Alan, Val & Jill B. March 2004
Your property is even more beautiful than the Internet pictures – Thank You for providing such a fantastic place to enjoy during our time in Kinsale. SB. Sept 2006
Thank you for a super holiday. The cottage and garden were fantastic (especially the tree house!) John & Michelle M. Chart House April 2005
The house was exquisite, and was exceptionally equipped, maintained and clean. We loved our stay there! A.D March 2007

A+ Cottage, A+ Location

HoyaSaxa Wheaton, Maryland USA
Review Submitted: August 19, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
This cottage was everything the website promised and more. Fantastic views; privacy; spacious, light-filled rooms; comfortable living; modern amenities in a charming backdrop. Kinsale is an ideal location for touring around West Cork and a lovely destination in its own right. Wonderful restaurants, atmospheric bars with traditional music, great walking opportunities. West Cork's coast doesn't get as much press as Galway or Ring of Kerry, but it is gorgeous, quiet, and incredibly scenic. Cork City is also a fun and doable day trip from Kinsale. All in all, a memorable stay!

Best place ever

Agent In A Kilt Ashland, Oregon USA
Review Submitted: October 27, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2007
I really should have written this review last year. I am now writing it because I am looking to rent it again this year. If I had to choose any place in Ireland to stay again, this would be the place. The host was awesome, the views were great, the best pub (the Spaniard) was in stumbling distance, the walk to town was not too far...but far enough. The hike to Charles fort and the Bulman was pleasant...a parking spot, updated appliances...The only hesitation I have about writing this review is if I ever want to stay here again, I don't want to have to book two years in advance.
You won't be disappointed....and if you are...it is probably your ridculous standards.and not the cottages. We rented Marions and the Chart house. I can't speak to the other two places, but I imagin that they are just as good. Thanks Mark for the great place.
