This contemporary farmhouse is located on a wooded half acre just a five minute walk from the center of the Village of Greenport, one of the few remaining active seaports on Long Island. Enjoy Greenport’s harbor front cafes, clam bars, harbour front carousel, seafood restaurants, art galleries, antique shops, a movie theatre, a brewery and ice cream shops.
Designed with an open floor plan, the house has two bedrooms (one queen, one double) and full bath upstairs, and a master bedroom and full bath on the first floor (sleeps 6). The first floor has a light-filled “eat in” kitchen and a spacious living and dining area with a wood burning fireplace and beamed cathedral ceiling. Sunlight streams into the house through skylights and large windows while floor to ceiling glass doors open off of the kitchen and living room to a large deck, the backyard and then onto an open woodland.
Trees, berry bushes, birdbaths and birdhouses make the backyard a favorite nesting ground for wildlife (the backyard is a certified Wildlife Habitat) as well as a very private retreat. The herb garden (a “must” for preparing fresh from the farm—or sea—dinners) and a colorful butterfly garden add extra charm. A fenced in front yard is an ideal play area for small children and pets.
The house has central A/C as well as ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living room. It offers wireless internet connection, stereo, a 32” flat screen LCD HDTV (cable), and a Blu Ray DVD player. Bookcases are filled with books, puzzles and board games. The kitchen is fully equipped: refrigerator with icemaker, microwave, dishwasher, and garbage disposal. The washer and dryer are in the basement.
