About Sheila Reiner
John is a landscape architect and Sheila is a retired school teacher. We love travel (especially to our home in St. John), theater, and fine dining. We have four adult children who spent much of their growing up years vacationing on St. John. As a family, we often spend our Christmas vacations in our St. John home, sharing old memories and making new ones.
Why Sheila Reiner chose Fish Bay
John and I chose to build our vacation home on St. John because we love the natural beauty and quiet of the island, and because it is one of the U.S. territories. We wanted to build our home where we could enjoy perfect weather all year round. Because the Virgin Islands National Park covers two thirds of the island, we are assured it will keep its pristine, natural environment.
What makes this house unique
Our home is in a quiet area called Estate Fish Bay. It overlooks the calm, blue waters of Fish Bay and the Caribbean Ocean. On a clear day we can see St. Croix in the distance. Our house rises above the tree tops with a spectacular, panoramic view of the Caribbean and surrounding mountains. One of our favorite pastimes while in our paradise home is feeding sugar water to and watching the small yellow birds, Banana Quits, as they dart back and forth from our deck to the trees below. John and I also love spending time lying in one of the two hammocks in our screened in porches reading a good book and watching the shadows on the mountains and ocean as the sun makes its way across the Caribbean blue sky. We are ten minutes away from the quaint village of Cruz Bay, and just minutes away from all of the white sand beaches of the island.
