This is a fine, completely restored apartment placed in the centre of the village. The building follows the tendency of the hill, so you are by one side at the ground-floor and you have a small garden, to the other side you are at the fifth floor with two wide and panoramic terraces, equipped with table, chairs, sun beds, with fine view. You go down the stairs and you find the forum with shops, restaurants, bar and the chemist's shop. You can forget your car, all is at a little walking distance: the sea at 300 meters, the paths at 10 meters, the railway station at 300 meters, the boats stop at the same distance. It is included a garage into the village park at a walking distance of 350 meters from the apartment.

The Cinque Terre represent one of the best preserved natural and semi-natural areas of the Mediterranean. Historical and geomorphologic reasons have forbidden excessive housing development and the creation of major roadways (which instead are present inland in the Val di Vara). Human activity and especially viticulture, have contributed to create a unique landscape in which development of the typical stone walls is so extensive as to equal that of the famous Great Wall of China. All this, combined with the characteristics of a crystal clear sea, of architecturally interesting locations, of a varied and extensive network of paths (one of the most enviable in the whole Mediterranean), makes the Cinque Terre an increasingly sought after location among Italian and foreign tourists. This is not so much the result of a successful promotional campaign but rather the spontaneous recognition of the uniqueness of the place, of its beauty, of the enjoyment one gets from staying in or visiting it.

Numerous companies offer charter flights from a number of European and non-European destinations.

We spent a week here in July, 2009. The apartment had everything you need to live comfortably and things worked. The roof terrace with it's views is great and when you get out of the front door you are right in the heart of the village. I myself missed a dishwasher, but that is mainly because my wife doesn't allow me to buy one at home for environmental reasons (she says). You also need good feet to climb up and down the stairs, but that is how things are all around Cinque Terre.

There is a noisy bar terrace right down on the street. Anyway, the soundproofing of the apartment is well above average and keeps the voices outside. That doesn't include the church bells, of course.

Of the 5 villages we found just Riomaggiore the most charming. There is also a small, stony but charming beach, where we visited a lot. The trains between villages work perfectly. Monterosso was a bit dull compared to the other 4.

We recommend Cinque Terre to anyone who likes trekking in magnificent landscapes, nature, old villages, swimming in the sea, mountains, food and unique atmosphere. Kids loved the place.

All in all we'd like to thank our hosts and if we'd ever head back to Cinque Terre, we'd choose this apartment again.

Die Ferienwohnung entsprach der Beschreibung des Vermieters. Die Lage ist zentral im Ort mit Meerblick von der Terrasse. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und wir würden jederzeit wieder dieses Appartement buchen.
