Arizona Getaway #B is an urban retreat located in a Historic Tempe neighborhood in the heart of the Valley of the Sun. This apartment is one half of a single level Duplex. Both two-bedroom apartments are vacation rentals.
Centrally located and close to Mass Transit and major freeways makes it easily accessible to everything in the Greater Phoenix area. A short one block walk to Metro Light Rail, public bus or Free Tempe Shuttles makes for a hassle-free ride to shopping, sports, or arts events.
Four Peaks Brew Pub is in a historic building two blocks away. A supermarket is one block away and Tempe’s newest mall, Tempe Marketplace is a 20 minute walk. We moved to Tempe when Gary was attending Arizona State University in the 1980s and have and stayed here because we enjoy the culture and energy of living in a college town. We raised our family in this neighborhood and are now empty nest. We enjoy traveling and had a positive experience with staying in a vacation rental apartment that we booked through VRBO and decided to try it ourselves when one of our rental units became vacant.

We bought this apartment in Tempe because it is in our neighborhood, making it convenient to manage. Being near by and having lived in Tempe for more than 20 years we are a phone call away to help guests with anything they may need. We can offer restaurant suggestions, route information or an arranged trip to the airport.
The location is the best! There is always something to do and easy to get there. Whether it’s the Fiesta Bowl Block Party, ASU graduation, a festival, hiking, sport events or shopping and dining, it’s all close by. Being so close Mass Transit there is no need to battle the Phoenix traffic.
Close to many attractions like the Phoenix Zoo, Desert Botanical Garden, ASU Art Museum and Tempe Town Lake.
I stayed at this condo/duplex for 10 days this March. We went to watch spring training games and also take in the sun. We always enjoy eating at different restaurants and the rental is in a very good location. Most of the interior is newly renovated so it gave the rental a modern feel. The back patio was a good reading location, and the washer/dryer on site came in handy! I was also impressed that there was cable television, as we took in a few of the March Madness games.
My travels have included VRBO several times but Gaila and Gary deserve top honors for well-equipped/clean/cared-for rental. I use public transportation primarily so this location was excellent with rail, bus and Orbit shuttles. It was so beneficial to have small unique restaurants and the Tempe Tavern in walking distance. My visiting families felt very comfortable with the space and amenities of eat-in kitchen, patio, parking,washer-dryer. Thanks, Gail and Gary! Hope to repeat next year.
My daughter and I stayed in Tempe to visit ASU. The location was very convenient with the light rail less then a block away. The officers on the light rail were super friendly and helpful - really welcoming. Gail & Gary's place is really clean and comfortable. Everything you need is available and the rates are great. Would stay again if in the area.
We stayed here for Ironman AZ. The place was very clean, very quiet and the beds were comfortable. Lots of items she stocked so we didn't have to buy it. 2.5 miles from the venue, parking, dishwasher and laundry at the condo. Stores and shopping close by. Rates were great and the owners were very easy to work with and attentive.
Very nice, very clean, very quiet, very comfortable, very convenient! Excellent rental near ASU. All the comforts of home with nothing missing. We will definitely be back.
Once again our stay was the best. Location is great, took the light rail from the airport and it was only a 5 minute walk to the apartment. Rate is very reasonable. Place is clean and comfortable and owners are great. We stay here whenever we visit our son at ASU.
