Beautiful Cozy Home in Jay
Submitted: March 4, 2013

My group and I have been going to Jay Peak for over 7 years and have stayed in several different homes. By far, this home was the nicest, coziest, and well taken care of home of them all.
Robin (owner) was absolutely excellent in providing us with detailed information about the home and our stay. She seem very excited to have us and made us feel welcomed. In addition, her mother in law lives near by and was kind enough to stop by once a day to check up on us to make sure we were OK.
A few things to note about this cabin:
When we say no cell phone service, we mean - "No Service". For us, that wasn't a bad thing. Our family and friends were with us so no need to call anyone. Just make certain that if you book this place, you either can do wi-fi calling OR you want to be out of reach. (Which probably is not a bad thing if you truly want a vacation from people who pester you all the time) :)
The roads to this home are very secluded with lots of hills. I CAN NOT stress enough the importance of a 4WD vehicle with good tires. Snow tires are recommended, but really... if you are a city person like me... the likelihood of having snow tires are slim. DO NOT go with a 2WD vehicle in the winter and think you are getting to this house. Also, if the vehicle is a REAR wheel drive, DO NOT even THINK of bringing it. Why I say this? My cousin who was with us borrowed a truck from his sister and was not aware that it was a 2WD REAR. Needless to say, it did NOT make it up the hill. In addition, we got into an accident going up the road at Jay Peak (rt 242) and needed a tow truck. So please heed the warning.
As for the home itself, the pictures do not give it justice. The home is beautiful and represents a classic log home. Everything is new. The home can fit 10 people easily, but that's up to Robin and company to approve more than 8.
All in all, we all loved this cabin. We really recommend this home!
