What to Do in Exuma
Your vacation can be as active or as relaxing as you choose. Unlike many Caribbean islands, the Exumas are a safe island where you can feel comfortable exploring the Bahamian culture and the friendliness of the local community all on your own. The quaint town of Georgetown is just minutes away from February Point where you can shop charming boutiques , marvel at talented artists at the local straw market, taste delicious Bahamian food, or explore some of the unique history of the island. A few grocery stores are also located in George Town for your convenience.
Car rentals are available at the Georgetown airport if you choose to rent one for your stay to explore the beautiful island. Consider renting a boat or water taxis to enjoy many of the local attractions and the down home hospitality the island has to offer.
A must stop is Chat and Chill on Stocking Island where one can delight in an authentic Bahamian experience. This beach bar and grill won’t disappoint you with their delicious hamburgers and fries, or their famous Conch salad made fresh daily right on the beach. Join in on a volley ball game, Stingray feeding or just relax on its sandy beach and enjoy the island music. Don’t miss out; every Sunday is their very popular pig roast. Just take a water taxis from Government Dock for a fun filled day!

Yachtsman from all around the world come to Elizabeth Harbor in George Town for the renown Regattas and sailing events that take place each year.
The Exumas are ideal for fisherman of various tastes, whether you enjoy fishing in the shallow waters or trying your hand at deep sea fishing. The Flats located near Great Exuma is a perfect spot to catch an abundance of bonefish, grouper, snapper and lobster. Or if it is Marlin, Sailfish or Wahoo that you are hoping to hook the Exuma Sound is a prime location.
If golf is your sport, an 18 hole championship course awaits you at the Emerald Reef Golf Course, next to the new Sandals resort. The course was designed by golf legend Greg Norman. It offers pristine ocean side beauty along the turquoise waters.
For beach lovers, one can’t miss some of the most private beautiful beaches in the world. Hamburger Beach, the secluded Tropic of Cancer, Coco Plum, and Sand Dollar Beach are only some of the breath taking beaches Exuma has to offer. If you are a little more adventurous there are many other small hidden coves and cays that dot the island that one can merely discover. No matter what beach you find, the warm turquoise waters of the Atlantic will prove to be an unforgettable experience.
By far, one of the most exotic, natural, breath- taking experiences is visiting the sand bar that magically appears out of the ocean in Elizabeth Harbor. If you catch it just right at low tide, it is a perfect location for an island wedding or engagement, as my son and his fiancé became engaged on this very sand bar just this past December. A truly memorable moment forever!

Our family is from the state of PA. When our 3 children were young we traveled many summers to the beaches closest to our home. The dark green, grayish waters were always cold and the beaches were packed with vacationers. As the children grew older we were fortunate to travel to many places in the Caribbean. Last summer, we traveled to the island of Exuma. By far, it was the vacation of a lifetime. We fell in love with the crystal clear, 85 degree aqua water. Exuma’s countless white beaches are pristine and private. It allows our family to enjoy its beautiful climate and water all year round while having fun experiencing all of the island’s many activities including snorkeling, fishing, golfing, swimming, and shopping. Not only do we feel that Exuma is one of the prettiest places in the world, we have found it to be one of the safest. The Bahamian people are beyond doubt some of the friendliest people we have ever met. We truly have fallen in love with Exuma and hope you would like to experience it too!

The gated February Point community speaks for itself. The pleasant smile and conversation that the guard at the front gate greets visitors is the first warm welcoming that Februray Point offers. One then travels on the road through the beautiful lush tropical vegetation to the Serenity House. February Point offers many amenities including tennis courts, a swimming pool, a marina and a gym. Overlooking the gorgeous marina, February Point offers a delightful restaurant and bar. Georgetown is a mere 5 minutes away and ocean side golf is only a 30 minute drive. We would not want to be located anywhere else on the island.
Our villa is the perfect place to create unforgettable vacation memories with family and friends. The location is ideal, right on the ocean. It can accommodate up to 9 people comfortably. The kitchen and family room areas are open which allows for plenty of gathering space. The wall of glass doors in the family room swing open to the outside furnished patio. One can fire up the barbeque grill and enjoy eating outside or just sit and relax and take in the breathtaking view of aqua blue ocean and smell of the salt air.
This is a very nice house in February Point. It is at least as nice as the pictures. The finishes and furniture are all high quality and in like-new condition. There was one very minor maintenance item with the house which we emailed the owner about and he had a plumber there within hours to fix it. We spent many hours looking on VRBO debating where to stay on our trip to the Exumas. After going, I highly recommend February Point over other much more remote areas such as Tar Bay, etc. and inside February Point, this house is a very good option.
We had a wonderful week at Villa DD! The owner, Al was extremely responsive from the time we asked for availability to the day after our vacation. The house is absolutely lovely with all of the appointments for comfortable relaxation, rested nights, great dinners prepared in house, access to our rented boat and a quick walk to town. We spent every day out on the water exploring the islands and eating burgers at Chat n Chill. We took the boat to the grocery store and everywhere else for that matter. It was a fantastic vacation and the house and the owners made it so easy to walk in the door and relax!
Our family had great time in Exuma and really appreciated the opportunity to stay in such a great house. The owners were very helpful and courteous throughout the process. We hope to be back real soon!
Our family has been reliving our week spent at Villa Serenity ever since returning home. We took our family to Exuma to renew our vows for our 30th anniversary. The Villa itself was a perfect fit for our family of 7. My husband and sons had great success fly fishing for bonefish. Al was very informative prior to our arrial with all sorts of helpful info to assist in making our trip special. Kwanza at The Chat n Chill made our special day so personal and perfect. The only regret I have is that I didn't find this place sooner. We look forward to returning but in the meantime will resort to the 100's of pictures to bring back the feeling of nirvana ...
The Serenity Villa was the most beautiful place we've ever visited. From the minute we walked in the front door, we were in paradise. The villa was beautifully decorated and well equipped with all of our needs. The accommodations were very comfortable, clean and well maintained.
We would start and end each day by relaxing on the balcony overlooking the crystal blue water. It was breathtaking!
Everything on the island was so beautiful. Most afternoons, we spent time exploring the beaches. Some days we had the entire beach to ourselves.
During our stay, we dined at many restaurants. The food was delicious along with the gorgeous scenery. Everyone on the island was so friendly. Make sure to visit Chat N Chill during your vacation. A fun place to sit back and enjoy great food and drinks while the Caribbean is right under your feet.
Many various water excursions were also available on the island including renting your own boat.
We would highly recommend staying at Serenity. You will not want to leave! We will be visiting soon again.
My family and I spent a week in the Serenity house this summer. We couldn't be more pleased! The house was beautiful and very well kept. I loved waking up and opening the curtains to the stunning view of the ocean. Every single window you look out of you have an unbelievable view. February Point also offers the Bamboo Bistro. It is a wonderful place to get a bite to eat with great atmosphere. The island was absolutely amazing and breathtaking. There are so many great beaches to sit back and relax on. Amazing getaway and we cannot wait until we can go back!!
