Short drive from Chicago. Beautiful views. Plenty to do in the area. Folks are friendly.
Life slows down and we enjoy our family when out here. Quality of life and mental state improves dramatically. Enjoy private, quiet and direct, easy access to our own beach. House designed to accommodate large familys.
Our group enjoyed the first class atmosphere of this beautiful home. Everything you could ask for in a rental property, and if anything was missing or in short supply the local management team was exceptionally responsive. The beach was beautiful, right out the back deck, and felt very private. Highly recommended!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house was warm and welcoming and beautifully appointed. The owners take great care in keeping the house in prime condition and they were easy to work with. There was plenty of space for someone to find a quiet place or for everyone to gather to eat or play games. The beach is right out the back door. Watching the sunsets from the large deck every night while having a glass of wine and appetizers was wonderful. The four bedroom suites each with a private bath made it a lot more comfortable for my adult siblings and their spouses. The younger kids loved congregating in the lower level in the two bunk rooms and large rec area. We would highly recommend this home for a large family or one or two families.
We would highly recommend this place. It is a beautiful place, well maintained, and the views are just gorgeous. The large deck held our big family for dinners each night while watching the sunset. The large kitchen with plenty of work stations accommodated a bunch of cooks and helpers at the same time. The large dining room table allowed us all to sit together. Clean up was easy with the two sinks and 2 dishwashers.
The listing and photos were accurate except they didn't do the house justice. It's much bigger than it looks in the pictures. There was enough room that we weren't falling over each other and the adults had their privacy. The fact that every bedroom upstairs has their own bathroom was really nice - I loved not having to share a bathroom. The house was one of the cleanest we've ever stayed in.
And the cousins enjoyed having their own floor downstairs with the big rec room and 2 bunk rooms.
We enjoyed the local restaurants: Bridges, Tree House, and Sahara's. The younger kids enjoyed the zoo and the Heston Steam Museum. We all went for hikes in the dunes. Shops at Light House Outlet Mall and in nearby New Buffalo kept us busy on an overcast day. Some of us went golfing at the municipal golf course which was really decent.
Sarah was great to work with during the booking process and helpful in answering our questions. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family.
