Located at the end of a private road in Southern Door County, this home offers the privacy, peace & tranquility that are the perfect alternative to todays hectic lifestyle. Our three bedroom, two bath private home nestled in the woods on the shore of Lake Michigan offers amazing views of the lake, sky & nature. Every window looks out to the water and/or woods.
Enjoy a cocktail at the fire pit on a moon & starlit evening over the lake. Fall asleep to the waves of Lake Michigan lapping on the shore. The early risers can enjoy the magnificent sunrises whether they are just turning over in bed or up making early morning coffee.
Pass your day relaxing on the screened porch, sleeping in the lakeside hammock, enjoying the hot tub overlooking Lake Michigan, or sitting at the end of a rare 40 foot dock watching for the lake freighters to pass by a few miles off shore.
Looking for more action? Door County has it all! After you have enjoyed swimming or fishing off the dock, playing yard games and watching the kids enjoy the 'tree-fort' - travel north up the road for hiking, boating, restaurants, golf, wineries, shopping, or famous Door County Fish Boils! And don't forget to visit some of the 5 fabulous state parks in Door County. Or head south a few miles to the Algoma marina for some of the best charter fishing Lake Michigan has to offer.
We know you also want the comforts of home - so that is where renting our private home (versus a rental cottage) really differentiates itself. Yes, the kitchen has it all - stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, disposal, pantry, island, skylight, pots, pans, utensils and bar glasses. It also has a table in a bay window with one of the best views of Lake Michigan. The master bedroom is on the main floor with a king-sized bed, TV and private entrance to the main floor bath, which has a whirlpool tub and separate shower. The two upstairs bedrooms are large and hold a king size bed and a queen size bed plus a crib. Each room is spacious and has plenty of room for additional air mattresses. The same is true for the lower level living space. The living room has a wood burning fireplace, TV, DVD along with a selection of movies for the whole family to enjoy. There is a finished lower level living space with TV, video games, game tables and board games to enjoy day or night.
BBQ on the Weber gas grill then enjoy your meal either at the outdoor fire pit table, screened porch, or the beautiful dining room table. All with great views spanning Lake Michigan!
We promise you will be as relaxed or busy as you would like during your stay. You will never want to leave.
Please allow us to welcome you and your family to our little piece of paradise!

Thank you Bob and Mary for sharing your home with us and being so responsive to all of our questions beforehand. We had 3 couples from MN and IL get together for a long weekend in Green Bay and Door County and your home allowed us to relax and spend quality time together. Everyone commented on how comfortable the house is and how relaxing the view/atmosphere are as well. We all live in metropolitan areas and it was great to get away and relax. The house provided plenty of room for 6 adults and we really appreciated all of the special touches, such as the spices and coffee available, the grill, the soft towels and comfy beds, the hot tub and the list goes on! Thanks again for your hospitality and we hope to be back.
We rented this house for a family get away with myself, my husband, our 16-month old, and "the grandparents". This vacation home was everything we could have hoped for and more! It was cozy while still having plenty of space for people to get "away" when they needed to. We had a troupe of pelicans that floated by most nights at sunset. We cooked most meals at the house and the kitchen left nothing to be desired. The house was in a good location to make day trips around door county and felt completely secluded at the same time. For those with very small children, you will need to be on high alert - there are things like an exposed brick wall, lots of floor textures, and a raised hearth fireplace that can make the house a bit of a danger zone for toddlers that are still getting their feet under them. Definitely not a huge deal or deal breaker and probably no more of a consideration than for this property than any home that isn't home.
We had a fantastic week that left us all with great memories and a desire to plan our next trip!
Thank you both for opening your beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing home to our family! We loved our stay and absolutely loved the view from your back yard. We spent every morning on the back porch clutching our coffee and watching our kids play in the yard. We were a bit concerned that the home would be too far from the "action" but we discovered it was JUST RIGHT! We actually looked forward to getting away from the comertialism of Door County and spending quiet and relaxing time with the family at the house. Our friends were able to join us at the last minute and we COMFORTABLY fit 5 adults, 3 children and a baby for the weekend. My mother who has difficulty with stairs slept in the first floor bedroom and enjoyed herself tremendously. Despite the previous reviews describing difficulty making it down to the lake, my mother and the rest of the family enjoyed time down by the lake on the stone-paved landing. Mary was VERY helpful in answering all of our questions, making us feel comfortable, and helping us identify activities we would enjoy. Thank you again for opening up your home and providing us with a beautiful destination for a much-needed getaway!
We had an amazing time at this beautiful lake house. It truly is what the pictures show and more. There were four couples in our group on a Harley ride to Door County and the house accommodated us well. There was a secure garage for our bikes, plenty of linens, kitchen was over stocked, hot tub was just right, plenty of firewood for the fire pit, the forty foot dock was perfect, and the full moon was out every night without a cloud in the sky. The water was a little green by shore but once you waded out fifty feet the water was clear. We were able to wade over 300 yards from shore without currents and a sandy bottom, truly awesome. This home is close to everything, yet miles away from everything. We truly had our privacy on this dead-end road. It was the best of both worlds. I would recommend this place to anyone. We enjoyed this house and our time there so much; we have added this house to our yearly trip list. Bob and Mary O’Neil have it figured out. Our hats off to them!!!!!
This is our second trip to Door County. We love this part of Wisconsin, and this home is the perfect place to come and relax. As advertised, this home has everything you need to have a carefree, comfortable, wonderful vacation. It has a spectacular view of Lake Michigan from the screened-in porch. Even though we visited in July, we were able to make use of the fire pit in the evenings by the lake. During our visit, we were thrilled to see a swan, two eagles and some cranes on the lake. Overall, a fantastic experience and one we very much recommend!
I take a lot of time to research areas and vacation rentals. I have rented a vacation home in Door County 4 times, this house was absolutely the BEST in Door County. First of all, it's just south of Door County which knocks an hour off your initial travel time. Great when you have little ones in the car. Then after you get settled you can grocery shop in Algoma about 10 minutes away (there was a lovely beach there Cresent Beach, looked fabulous with plenty of parking). Sturgeon Bay has the shopping and boat rentals, getting there only takes about 20 minutes. If you get onto 42 and head north you go by all the wineries and attractions. SO EASY and SO PRETTY.
The house is big, it has a very nice eat in kitchen, everything we needed. 6 adults and 2 bitty kids fit perfectly. My 3 year old son shook with joy when he saw the HUGE finished basement FILLED with kids toys. He was in heaven. The house feels secluded and the view was awesome. The walk to the dock is not hard, just steep. It feels like being at the ocean. You probably can't swim here but several sandy beaches are as close as 15 minute cruise down a beautiful country road.
Well worth every penny.
The Owners were very nice and accommodating.
This house had bikes, toys, toys, yard games, hammock, great pots pans and dishes, cable television a screened in porch, full size washer and dryer, beach towels and toys, the bathroom had bandaids, sunscreen, OFF spray, cleaning supplies, comfortable beds and blankets. We literally just packed our clothes and toothbrush!
